SUMMARY

Evaluating lab dips and bulk submittals to ensure consistency in color, to support design and product development teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Color approval accountability, lab dips and shade bands.
Thorough understanding of visual and instrumental color evaluation procedures with accurate and consistent technique; ability to use spectrophotometer, light boxes and other color tools
Strong ability to differentiate color accurately
Effective color communication skills using the "Standard Language" to provide color direction
Create and distribute QTX files of PEI custom dyed colors and bulk standards
Management and ordering of Pantone swatches and QTX files
Maintain a 24 hour turn around time with comments
Proficiency in spectrophotometers, color management software and best operational practices
Extensive knowledge of PEI and all private label color guide books and color processes
All files such as color standards and color guide book should be maintained
Calibrate spectrophotometer daily and maintain the calibration log
Monitor the temperature and humidity in the color room
Tracking of mill performance-report card

Skilled in typing, excel and working on computer software programs like Microsoft office.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires the normal demands of any job, such as sitting, standing, reaching with arms and hands, walking, talking and hearing.
Occasional travel maybe necessary to mills/factories/other offices
Flexible work hours to meet the demands of the business

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Spend much of time evaluating color in color room

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

College degree in fashion design or textile/color engineering
Superior rating on Munsell Hue test
Data Color Spectrophotometer and Color Tools knowledge
Light box knowledge
