Job Purpose


The Manager, Project Coordination will participate in an exciting and strategic initiative to introduce the first Disney Store flagship store into China. It is a project based position with 18 months service period.


The Disney Store retail chain, which debuted in 1987, is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. Disney Store is an affiliate of Disney Consumer Products, the business segment that extends the Disney brand to merchandise. Disney Store carries high-quality products, including exclusive product lines that support and promote Disney's key entertainment initiatives and characters. There are currently more than 200 Disney Store locations in North America; more than 40 Disney Store locations in Japan; more than 100 Disney Store locations in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, and online stores disneystore.com and disneystore.co.uk. Each Disney Store location offers a magical shopping experience that can only be delivered by Disney, one of the world's largest and most successful entertainment companies.


The Manager, Project Coordination will assist the head of Disney Store Business Operations to drive all aspects in the execution of the flagship Disney Store in Shanghai. He/she needs to work proactively and partners with internal / external stakeholders to execute according to established project timeline. This role will have the rare opportunity to have exposure to all areas in specialty retailing, including real estate negotiation, legal, government relationship, design and construction, merchandising, store operations SOP, supply chain and warehousing, IT and POS systems implementation, and financial modeling.


The Manager, Project Coordination should demonstrate excellent people skill and communication skill in working with internal and external stakeholders. He/she should communicate proactively with senior management regarding the status of overall project and specific tasks.



Key Responsibilities


? Responsible for driving all aspects in project execution to setup the flagship Disney Store from scratch.

? Manage resource assignment, budget, scheduling, and prioritization of projects.

? Drive outsourcing strategy including process to select vendors, negotiate contracts, assign projects and drive deliverables.

? Serve as liaison between Disney China local management, and other Disney global and regional functions as well as external design firms, general contractors, technology and other vendors, and government offices.

? Ensure all project tasks are staying on schedule and budget.

? Act as first-line escalation path for any project-related issues.

? Proactively identify any conflicts based upon design, product, technology or business factors and facilitate resolution among all parties involved.

Working Relationships


? Internal: corporate functions including Legal, Real Estate, Government Affairs, Design & Construction, Merchandising, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Technology, Finance/Accounting, Marketing, Communication, HR and Store Operations.

? External: Government and State Bureaus, Suppliers and Vendors.


Requirements

Education:

? Bachelor’s degree in commerce/business or related area.

? MBA degree preferred.

Experience/Skills:

? Excellent business communication, writing and interpersonal skills.

? 5-10 years of relevant work experience within retail industry, project management, business analysis and consulting experience is a plus.

? Strong leader and decision maker with at least 6 years of experience in leading large, multidisciplinary teams.

? Proven accomplishment as a driver of multiple projects.

? Proven track record managing individual project budgets and budget roll-up of multiple projects.

? Able to deliver under deadlines and intense business environment.

? Thrive in a fast-paced environment and able to juggle, shift gears and maintain a sense of humor.

? Demonstrated analysis/assessment capabilities.

? Practiced in negotiating with others in ways that result in win/win agreements and outcomes.

? Capable of coaching/mentoring and conflict management/negotiation.

? Proactive and solution-oriented when managing issues.

? Comfortable when communicating with senior executive level managers.
