Summary:
This position assesses the risk presented to Group by suppliers and works with suppliers and internal Group personnel to improve supplier performance and reduce ingredient risk.
Supplier assessments are made by performing quality systems audits at supplier manufacturing sites. The position may also as needed perform internal Group audits to assure compliance to Quality systems and standards. Initially the position will address supplier locations within China who ship only to Group China. Ultimately the position will also include regional audits for those vendors who only ship within the ASPAC region.
Scope:
This position requires successful interaction with Global Procurement, Creative Development, Business Development, Manufacturing, Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA), ASPAC regional director of Quality Assurance, Group China manufacturing sites, and Technical Information Services to understand, manage, develop, simplify and improve the vendor base. This position is also responsible for the quality development and improvement of the sources of supply in their country and is key to setting the XXX Flavor, Fragrance and Aroma Chemical divisions up for success by allowing into the system only quality products and services from vendors.

The individual will spend 50-60% of their time traveling to vendor locations in order to conduct the required audits.
Key Responsibilities:
90% -Coordinate the supplier audit process in China with the Senior Auditor for ASPAC. This includes assessing audit priorities, scheduling and performing supplier audits, assessing risk to Group, and circulating risk assessment reports to Global Procurement, Operations and Global Quality. Assist Global Procurement in working with the vendor to reduce risk and improve vendor performance through utilization of the non conformance information provided through notifications in SAP.

10% Other related duties as required by your supervisor which may include auditing packaging and toller audits.
Minimum:
A technical degree from a 4 year institution. 3 years experience or more in Quality and Manufacturing in the Food/Flavor/Fragrance industries. Must understand food and chemical manufacturing processes. Must have a thorough understanding of the principles of food safety. Must speak English and local language fluently.

Preferred:
5 years experience or more in Quality and Manufacturing in the Food/Flavor/Fragrance industries with experience in a microbiological laboratory. A working knowledge of local food regulatory requirements.

A certification by the American Society of Quality or equivalent as one or more of the following is strongly encouraged.
Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified HACCP Auditor, Certified Quality Manager, Certified Reliability Engineer, Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt
