Responsibilities

• Commodity Strategy

？ Develop commodity strategy for optical active components

？ Execute commodity strategy through cross-functional teams

？ Review commodity strategy/implementation on a regular basis

？ Implement part-level multi-sourcing

• Supplier Management

？ Manage overall supplier relationship

？ Source new suppliers per commodity strategy

？ Manage the introduction and qualification of new suppliers

？ Coordinate any corrective actions

？ Perform regular supplier performance evaluation & feedback

？ Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBR’s) with selected suppliers

？ Develop and implement continuous improvement with optical active supply base

• Cost / Price

？ Obtain best cost for optical active parts from the supply base

？ Establish bi-annual cost reduction targets and conduct negotiations

？ Perform cost/price analysis for selected commodities

？ Maintain benchmark (industry & Neo’s competitors) for selected commodities

• Continuity of Supply

？ Manage overall business demands and forecasts to supply base

？ Manage overall supply capacity

？ Manage supplier lead time and flexibility

？ Act as escalation point for delivery issue resolution

• Market Intelligence

？ Perform market intelligence (supplier industry and Neo’s competitors) on a regular basis

• Risk Management

？ Assess overall supply chain risk of the portfolio

？ Implement risk mitigation plans as needed

？ Perform supplier-level risk analysis on regular basis

• Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) & Innovation

？ Perform strength and weakness analysis between supply base and NeoPhotonics

？ Bring suppliers into Neo’s design loop early in the cycle

？ Identify supplier innovation and recommend to R&D and PBU’s

• Change & Project Management

？ Plan any identified changes and projects thoroughly

？ Execute all identified changes and projects through cross-functional team work

• Quality

？ Assist SQE in supplier quality management and improvement

？ Participate in quality issue resolution

？ Assist SQE in RoHS compliance and others internal/external quality related criterions management

Person Specification

• Minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor’s degree in engineering (optical, or electronics)
• MBA, C.P.M., CPSM, etc. is a plus
• 10-12 years of professional strategic procurement or supplier management experience in the optical/electronics industry
• Good knowledge of components used in optical communication industry, especially well know optical active components
• Self-sufficient with minimum supervision
• Good communication skills and personality
• Excellent communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking & listening)
