Responsibilities:

· Works with Australia executives to establish departmental goals and sourcing strategies for business growth;
· Make production commitments with furniture suppliers, ensuring objectives of product quality, delivery and price are met or exceeded;
· Support the long term strategic direction for business with these placement decisions;
· Manage the timely execution of orders;
· Build the supplier matrix for the product area in-line with the direction for the total category. Align suppliers by product type;
· Measure supplier performance, capability and capacity in order to make appropriate sourcing decisions. Keep information up to date. Manage supplier performance;
· Identify growth, maintain, downtrend and to-be-eliminated vendors. Shift business from non-strategic, underperforming suppliers to strategic partner suppliers;
· Forecast business by vendor seasonally and annually in conjunction with the Sourcing team both Australia head quarter and local. Communicate plans to suppliers;
· Develop time and action calendars from development to shipment in coordination with sourcing and related parties within the organization. Work with the team to define leadtimes. Manage the sourcing process to ensure timely decisions and actions;
· Understand all product objectives. Proactively identify and resolve product spec issues upfront. Allocate product specs to the right supplier;
· Manage the seasonal quotation process and component costing. Effectively negotiate product and price, and determine creative alternatives to achieve objectives;

Requirements:
· Degree in business or product related field with 8 years experience with a major US/European Retailer, US/European Brand, or importer/agent serving major retail customers.
· Regional or global experience in sourcing the hotel and commercial furniture category is required. Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.
· Strong technical hard goods knowledge is required. Understanding of furniture product specification, components and production.
· Excellent problem solving skills. Creatively be able to develop alternative solutions to achieve product and business objectives.
· In-depth knowledge of relevant suppliers and factories. Able to understand and differentiate between various manufacturers.
· Team player who always works respectfully with associates and suppliers from different cultures.
· Excellent communication skills. Clear, direct and open approach. Fluent in English
