Project officer, Global Publishing Services (Publishing)

The project officer will manage and oversee client requests and resources using workflow systems and provide good customer service to meet Service Level Agreements.

Job Duties:
Impact on the business
-Take in jobs for Publishing, ensuring sufficient and complete brief and managing these jobs in the workflow system
-Understand the skill sets of all areas of Publishing, nuances of individual services offered, and map to and cross-sell to customers. For example, a client requiring the development of a simple website could be pitched the use of Design, Editorial and Technology Services, rather than just the latter. Likewise, a client requiring a simple print brochure might be sold a related website/section.
-Escalation of errors and client complaints through approval process.
-Ensure delivery of jobs according to specifications, cost and timeline by preparing a job agreement and getting it signed off by the client, scheduling and directing production in close collaboration with other team leaders, communicate costs, schedule resource where needed.
-Actively seek process improvement
-Ensure a high quality of work by consistently taking responsibility for one's own work, reviewing it against quality standards, and consistently seeking to achieve zero quality errors.

Customers/Stakeholders
-Enable management to monitor and improve production metrics by generating relevant MI reports for clients and management, as necessary.

Leadership and teamwork
-Ensure a steady improvement in one's skills and capabilities by supporting, planning and attending collaborative work and in-house cross-training opportunities, and assisting direct line manager in developing one's annual and quarterly training plan.
-Maintain proficiency in current versions of software used within HSBC required to perform duties, and seek written certification of proficiency from line manager on an annual basis.
-Manage a team of resources ensuring the quality of their work and acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to become effective.

Requirements:
-Post-secondary education – either at the degree level or a relevant professional diploma or certificate
-2-5 years experience in a project management role, possibly in a marketing communications/agency environment
-Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
-Strong verbal and written English communication skills
-Strong attention to detail under pressure and ability to meet deadlines
-Experience managing a team
-Available to work overtime on weeknights and weekends if necessary
