Responsibility

1. Ensure the quality of monthly and quarterly tax reporting to Group financial accounting including current and deferred taxes.

2. Monitor and manage the tax compliance status for the Group in North Asia.

3. Undertake annual reviews of Transfer Pricing documentation and compliance for entities in the responsible regions.

4. Provide tax technical support to regional and local finance teams in North Asia and business units (i.e. Logistics, Container shipping, terminals and Group) in the areas of transfer pricing, direct and indirect taxes to enable smooth operation of the various business units.

5. Manage the North Asia finance controllers on the following.

6. Review and assess current and deferred tax provisions.

7.Review annual submission of tax computations and returns to relevant tax authorities as well as correspondences prepared by external tax agents.

8. Assist on the liaison with relevant authorities on Tax Incentive matters.

9. Continuous improvement of internal tax compliance and reporting processes with a view to establishing a standardised process for the various regions and business units.

10. Manage and Co-ordinate with the Group, Liner and Logistics accounting and auditors for reporting and audit review purpose. Review the nature of transactions and ensure sufficient supporting information to justify tax treatments.

11. Undertake ad-hoc projects (e.g. transfer pricing, tax and business restructuring, etc).

Requirement

1. Accounting degree.

2. 3-6 years, some experience with the tax department of one of the big 4 accounting firms and/or with a big MNC.

3. Experience in dealing with / advising on cross-border tax issues in the areas of direct and/or indirect taxes.

4. Must possess good technical knowledge and understanding of the principles of international taxation and treaty interpretations.

5. Good interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal and external parties which include IT personnel, finance controllers, auditors and corporate accounting staff.

6. Some experience in transfer pricing is preferred.

7. Ability to work under time pressure.

8. Dedicated, meticulous with strong analytical skill.

9. Able to think creatively and unafraid to challenge established norms / processes leveraging on adequate technical support.

10. Able to work independently or as part of a group .Needs to be a strong team player.

11. Proficiency in GQL query or Oracle/SAP knowledge is a plus.
