Job Duties:
1. Expert-level understanding of the appropriate business systems and processes of the Group and their associated requirements;
2. Ensure that tools and the accepted best practice techniques and standards provided by HSBC are utilised;
3. Actively promote the benefits of architecture, accepted best practice techniques, standards and tools to other areas of the Group and external suppliers where necessary;
4. Be instrumental in the design and delivery of new solutions
5. Ensure the highest level of quality for all activities and products within relevant field of influence by providing a consultancy role to IT and business teams where appropriate;
6. Introduce new techniques, products, services, technologies and standards where needed, via the appropriate channels and in agreement with the rest of global architecture;
7. Where appropriate, provide full life cycle architectural guidance to development teams and ensure quality technical deliverables;
8. Contribute to governance and standards for architecture involving IT and the business stakeholders where applicable;
9 Engage and manage relationships with stakeholders for assigned architecture deliverables / projects;
10. Mentor and coach less experienced members of staff;
11. Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts;
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour.


Candidate Specifications:
1. Demonstrated experience designing , delivering, and communicating solution designs for complex requirements spanning multiple systems
2. Ability to prioritise work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical and business environment
3. Effectively manage the delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internal/external teams
4. Communication and interpersonal skills
5. Background in either business analysis or software development
6. Strong and credible technology skills with the passion to lead teams in new directions
7. Understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements
Qualifications:
Computer science or information science degree
Desirable TOGAF certified or similar
Methodology:
Solution architecture – TOGAF or similar
Desirable object oriented analysis and design, UML
Project management and SDLC
Requirements management
Technology:
Java and it’s ecosystem
Enterprise integration patterns, ESB, SOA
Standard formats such as FIX, FPML
Desirable business process management and workflow
