The Role:

The General Manager is responsible for the following duties:

1. Plan, develop and implement strategy for operational management and development so as to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales
2. Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
3. Manage and lead staff to perform at the peak of their ability and to deliver the required outcomes of their position.
4. Manage and control expenditure within agreed budgets
5. Maintain awareness and knowledge of industry trends, movements and legislation and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff within the organisation
6. Ensure activities comply and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
7. Reporting and accounting as per regulatory and legal requirements including taxation, dividends, monthly and annual reporting, accounts and company secretarial dutiesin line with company policies and procedures. (In conjunction with other staff as the company grows)
8. Contribute to the development of business strategy in conjunction with the Executive Director.
9. Develop company policies and procedures under the guidance of ED and other senior staff of IMG.
10. Maintain and develop organisational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, industry organisations, partners and regulatory/official bodies
11. Report to Board and shareholders on organisational plans and performance.
12. Train for the role including all aspects of seniors living communities under the guidance of the Executive Director and other senior staff of IMG and in turn, train others.
13. Other duties as required by the Directors.

Reporting:

General Manager will report directly to the Executive Director but will be ultimately responsible to the Board.

Other Requirements:

The General Manager will be required to travel to fulfil the requirements of this position including attendance at various conferences, client meetings and seniors training programs (both domestic and international).

GM traits and skills

Relevant International Degree eg business admin, hospitality

Experience at Senior level in hospitality industry eg GM of hotel chain

Experience in FM management, food and bev and customer service

Fluent English and Mandarin

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience at high level negotiation

Proven abilities in: staff management; time management; report writing; working with a Board of Directors; financial management; budgeting; innovation

Ability to self motivate and work independently

Willingness to travel
