PART TIME CHINA RESEARCHER – TRANSPORTATION, AGRICTULTURE, INDUSTRIALS

THE ROLE

The China Cyclicals Researcher is a part time project-based position. This person will work with the Cyclicals team in China to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community by interviewing industry sources. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry contacts in the transportation and industrials areas and demonstrate the ability to develop new relationships with experts who can speak to strategic trends in the industry with an emphasis on trucking, logistics, as well as industrials or agriculture markets. Effective source development and interviewing skills are key aspects of the role.

PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

？ Understanding of the China market, with a strong background in the truck manufacturing/ transportation industry.

？ Ability to report on other industries beyond transportation also a plus.

？ Extensive network of established industry contacts in China, beyond public relations and investor relations. These may include commercial fleet executives, logistics executives, large commercial shippers, truck dealers, etc.

？ Minimum of 3-5 years experience in transportation; investigative journalism experience a plus.

？ Ability to obtain in-depth interviews and accurately capture detailed notes.

？ The ability to analyze and identify essential findings, spot trends and think forward.

？ The ability to speak/read and write native Chinese; fluent verbal and written English skills required.

？ Ability to meet deadlines and be flexible with schedule a must due to working with clients, reporters and editors in different world time zones.

？ The ability to maintain a positive attitude, self-motivation and confidence

？ A native Chinese born speaker and citizen. If not, the proper credentials and work permits to be employed in China is a must.

？ Candidate must be located either in the Great Shanghai Area (Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Nanjing, etc.) or South China (Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc.)

The Consumer Retail China Researcher will work closely with the Global Consumer Retail Director and Asia Director to provide relevant and timely marketplace intelligence for the global investment community. The ideal candidate will possess extensive industry contacts and demonstrate the ability to develop new relationships with experts who can speak to strategic trends in the retail, restaurants and consumer products industries in the North China region.
