IT Business Analyst based in Shanghai
This role is a contract role
JOB DESCRIPTION
- To provide support to IT and users for our Asia Pacific and Japan, with primary focus for China
- Responsible for supporting applications / systems / projects assigned
- Strong BA who can promote ideas for change
- Person will need to be comfortable working globally and interacting with Senior Executives.
-This person will be supporting the sales/ communications/marketing organizations.
Strategic Direction
- Work in IT Team to deliver on strategic priorities, objectives and deliverables as set by IT management and business.
Project Management
- Participate in project teams for project delivery on goals, tasks, milestones and within timelines. Be accountable for project deliverables on timeline. Business partners will always ask for a bigger budget. However this person must be able to assist in negotiating priorities despite a particular person’s rank.
Process & Procedure Management
- Update appropriate documentation (SOP's, manuals, equipment database, processing schedules) for IT Operations. Re-engineers business or IT processes by partnering with process owners and using appropriate methods and tools.
Relationship Management
- Support internal users.
- Manage relationships with internal customers, service suppliers and vendors (mostly internal and occasionally external).
- Act as IT contact when appropriate with external vendors, Corporate IT, and affiliate personnel.
Project experience
- Experience gained in multinational medical device companies will be an advantage
- Proficiency in conducting business in English (read, write, oral).
- Mandarin / Putonghua (oral) and Traditional / Simplified Chinese (read, write) or Japanese an asset but not mandatory.
Standards & Security Management
- Ensure that systems and network environment conform to our company's and local information systems and data processing policies, standards and security.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
-Professional and talented group with high demands. This is the IT team for their corporate location. Not a lot of international travel required. At first there will be training at their offices in California but once they are done with that, maybe a little travel globally. Most if any will come within China i.e. Beijing, Guangzhou. The candidate needs to be flexible to international time zones when conducting business conference calls since most of the parties involved our around the globe. Early there will be a lot of conference calls since the person will be just getting introduced to the projects (late night calls).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Preference in technology would be SFDC>Cognos>SAP
- SAP production support
- General IT knowledge
- They don’t need to have a developer background
- Bachelor Degree - 4 to 6 years of relevant BA experience
-Experience supporting the sales/ communications/marketing organizations. Does not matter which industry but medical device would be a big plus.
- This person must be comfortable in negotiating budgets and project priorities despite a particular manager’s rank.
- Interest in working with colleagues outside of China and enjoys playing a regional role.
- Experience running off the shelf systems like Siebel, SAP CRM and SFDC for example.
