Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor degree in engineering with a specialization in Lean Manufacturing

2. 1-3 years experience in industrial environment as a Mechanical, Manufacturing, Lean engineer

3. Ability to develop consensus improvement using data to drive improvement

4. Verbal and written skills

5. Must have experience with waste elimination, continuous improvement

6. Toyota production system experience is a plus

7. AutoCAD experience or training

Duties include, but not limited to, the following:

- Value Stream Map should be establish for each value stream before launch. This will academic, but will become our blueprint for implementation.

- Work with technical team to launch the plant with fluid "door-to-door" material flow.

- Work with Launch engineer to make sure that equipment is designed for low waste material flow: ergonomics, part presentation, running with different staffing, ease of C/O, operator/machine interface

- Complete elemental time studies for each operation and equipment

- Labor balancing using man/machine or combination charts if necessary.

- Written/Visual standardized work for each operation

- Establish the pacemaking process and implement a level schedule

- Work to establish one piece flow where possible

- When zero change over is not currently attainable and batch production is required, implement fixed quantity variable time kanbans with a visual pacing mechanism

- Kanban sized for each incoming component with completed layout. Ordering should be based on some pull based system.

- Floor set up to visually reflect KB sizing (component level)

- Jidoka - The 4C methodology including the four levels of process design for each of the mentioned systems

- Eliminate waste and adjust systems as we continuously improve

Additions: Travel to the US will be required.
