Essential Duties and Responsibilities:




Planning & Scheduling



- Plan and forecast customer demand

In collaborating with Sales, Marketing and Production, maintain an accurate demand forecast, manage it throughout the order fulfillment process, and share it with Purchasing, Quality Control, and all other relevant internal departments of each China plant and Hong Kong Headquarters when necessary.



- Optimize production scheduling

Develop master production plan to ensure that operational capacities meet sales and inventory requirements. Conflicting needs for customer responsiveness and production throughput should be well-addressed and balanced.



- Manage Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

Take responsibility for an accurate MRP and inputs to Purchasing so as to match with the scheduling and to avoid any disruption on production.



- Act as liaison for contingency plan

Act as a liaison between Production, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing and Quality Control in solving problems related to maintaining satisfactory inventory of impacted product lines. Implement procedures for handling product shortage situations when necessary.


Finished Inventory & Raw Materials Control



- Monitor the consumption of raw materials

Keep track on the movements of raw materials so as to determine timely and efficient replenishment at economic order quantity to support production requirements.


- Control materials & inventory level

Operate the materials control on just-in-time basis so as to minimize cost while, at the same time, ensuring the quality and quantity of the materials by collaborative efforts with Purchasing, suppliers, contractors and all other relevant parties.



Maintain optimum finished inventory, with maximum and minimum levels, based on historical sales, forecasted demand, and input from Sales, Marketing and Production of each China plant.



- Manage OEM suppliers

Maintain close relationship with OEM suppliers and manage the supply from them so as to avoid any disruption in the order fulfillment process and to ensure the quality of the supply.


- Plan effective transportation strategy

Ensure the most cost-effective way for both in-bound and out-bound operations, including overseas shipments, inter-plants transportation, materials receiving from suppliers and inventory delivery to non-local customers in the aspects of frequency, routes and contracting.



General



- Develop the supply chain function in mainland China

Take the lead to develop and manage the establishment and evolution of the supply chain function by establishing systems and maintaining information flow among relevant departments within the Company, subsidiary plants and key external suppliers so as to collect the most up-to-date information and market data, which can facilitate the supply chain operations for China.



- Perform business metrics analysis

Keep track on the supply chain function by conducting metrics analysis. Identify defect-prone areas and make recommendations so as to ensure optimal resources decisions and to establish best practices in the field.



- Conduct performance monitoring

Monitor the performance by conducting comparative analysis of each individual function under the integrated supply chain process so as to achieve the overall efficiency.




Principle Working Relations:

(excluding direct reporting relationships)




- Works with various Sales Teams to obtain the most up-to-date customers demand on the products. And to work out a smooth and efficient order fulfillment to local customers and distributors on day-to-day basis.



- Works with Marketing Teams to ascertain the information of new product launch and promotion works so that a well-planned production scheduling, material planning and inventory level can be achieved.



- Works with Purchasing Teams to make sure the materials acquired are from reliable sources, of good price and quality, and the supply of them is in a timely manner.



- Works with Production Teams to ensure the manufacturing throughput is supporting the schedule and customer demands.



- Works with Quality Control Teams to monitor the quality of the materials and inventory is up to various quality standards.




Requirement:



- A Bachelor's Degree in a business related field.



- Minimum of 8 years' prior relevant experience in production planning and scheduling management, with 3 years in national supply chain management role.



- Analytical skills and initiative.



- Excellent mainframe and personal computer skills.



- Excellent oral and written communication skills.



- Excellent people skills and responsive to internal as well as external customers.
