Senior Software Engineer/ Consultant Specialist (C++)

Job Duties

? Work with global team, especially with HK BA and managers together, provide high quality project delivery to satisfied customers’ requirements. Take up responsibility and can work independently in design, development, test, release and 3^rd line support stages.

? Align with global standard and process to ensure the project delivery quality. Adhere to HSBC Group policy and follow the behaviour principles.

? Manage and mitigate project issues/risks and closely take follow up action until issues closure

? Provide accurate management reports and periodically document project status

? Act as a good team player and collaborate with other IT teams to ensure that project deliverables are completed in a timely manner.

Candidate Specifications

? A university graduate with degree in IT or a related discipline

? A minimum of four years’ IT software development experience, sounded technical knowledge and experience in C++, Oracle, UNIX, Shell Scripting, PERL tomcat/apache, as well as some Java experience. Strong IT background in software design, development, and testing, etc.. through software development life cycle stages.

? Willing to take up responsibility for development tasks, as well as willing to take up support for related module when needed.

? Working experience and knowledge on Java, HTML5, Calypso would be a plus.

? Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese for both reading, writing, listening and speaking.

? Working knowledge of fixed income knowledge e.g. REPO Trading, Bonds, and Equity is an advantage.

? Familiarity and software development life-cycle and implementation concepts in financial applications

? Effective planning, project management and interpersonal skills

? Good problem-solving and analytical skills

? A highly-motivated individual with positive and proactive attitude

? Confident to interact directly with different people to ensure good working communication in global project team.

? Able to operate effectively within a project team and adapt to a quickly changing working environment
