SUMMARY: To provide technical assistance remotely (for example, by telephone, e-mail, internet) or at customer sites as needed to install, service and repair CONVERGENT lasers ensuring operational quality of the lasers. Extensive travel, sometimes on short notice, may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In addition to the following duties, others may be assigned.

1. Evaluate, diagnose and repair a variety of laser malfunctions.

2. Serve as a liaison between customers and technical support on service related and technical matters.

3. Provide on-site direction to customers on operational and maintenance aspects of laser equipment. For example, provide input to customers on best practices for preventive maintenance and reliable operation.

4. Perform administrative duties such as preparation of service, travel, and expense reports.

5. Present service contract information to customers.

6. Provide recommendations to Management for changes needed to resolve design and/or manufacturing related problems.

7. Provide on-site assessment and modification of equipment to meet customer requirements.

8. Provide input to sales/marketing on potential product applications and collect customer’s requirement and suggestion of products

9. Provide technical support to customers before sales

10. Introduce and recommend laser products to customers

11. Machine commissioning at OEM’s

12. In charge of telephone support and on-site support

13. Build good relationship with customers, create good circumstance for sales

14. Ability to provide technical support services also on other company products (like OSAI CNC’s) will be definitely a plus.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

? Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of data and/or situations require a review of identifiable factors

? Ability to work on multiple tasks in parallel.

? Extensive travel, sometimes on short notice

? Exercise good judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.

? Ability to communicate effectively at various management levels and with professionals in other functional areas within the company and within customers organizations.

? Able to secure authorization to travel internationally (i.e. to the USA).

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

? A strong understanding of electronics and electronic schematics.

? A certification in a related technical field or equivalent experience is required.

? An ability to speak and write Mandarin and English on a technical level.
