职位描述
Purpose of Job:
The main purpose of this position is to provide engineering project leadership for New Product Development and the maintenance of existing products in the category. This position will lead new product design and execution by working together with engineering department of global divisions, suppliers, and external resources while the maintaining schedules, ensures that products meet the design goals to meet the perceived need of the consumer, resolve supplier technical issues and assist to improve supplier manufacturing process.
Job Scope & Major Responsibilities:
1. Be responsible for the product form, structure and function. Working with regional engineering team to create test plan for NPD or SMU projects.
2. Product Concepts and Ideas - Participates with engineering refinement of product concepts, features, form, function and specifications.
3. New Product Focus - Works with global project teams to understand and communicate project scope and evaluate design and resource requirements.
4. Leads Design and Execution – Be responsible for maintaining project schedule. Provides project updates and status reports to the global product development teams in addition to coordinating with suppliers.
5. Product Safety, Standards and Reliability - Ensures that products have been tested and evaluated for reliability, and that they meet applicable regulations, codes and standards.
6. Manufacturing Design - Significantly contributes to the determination of manufacturing design requirements by evaluating the supplier’s capability and resources as they relate to the intent of the product design and quality.
7. Lead the processes of specification, drawing and BOM as required by category expectations.
8. Uses and follows the standard milestones for Product Development, determined by the category needs and expectations.
9. Understand and follow up Engineering Change processes
10. Involvement in Production - Supports manufacturing by evaluating and reporting on the pre-production and the start of mass production of new products and the redesigned elements of existing products. Initiates engineering change orders based on changes to be processed.
11. Assist Quality Assurance and Reliability Engineering by helping to indentify and communicate critical to quality requirements and reviewing manufacturing control processes.
12. Effectively and appropriately communicate with all levels of the organization and supplier and make sure assigned tasks are finished as request.

Requirements:
1 Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering/Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
2 Written / Oral Language skills:
- Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
3 Competencies:
- Ability to think and work effectively with a concurrent engineer perspective on multiple projects.
- Aggressive, proactive, self-motivated and able to work in a team environment
- Good cooperation and organization with cross function project team.
- Customer focus on internal/external sides.
4 Experience
- 3+ years of solid experiences in consumer products for product design, manufacturing and project management.
- 2+ year Experience in gas Burning Appliance.
- 1+ year injection mold or sheet metal tooling design experiences is a big plus.
5 Professional Qualifications, Knowledge and skills
- Solid experience on sheet metal stamping ,metal surface treatment, and plastic injection
- Good knowledge of the interdependency between product features, standards requirements, cost and customer expectations
- Excellent project management, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and decision-making skills required.
- Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, capable of using Solid Works or Pro-E, AutoCAD mechanical design software and experience in 3D modeling software is an advantage.
6 Others: (e.g. Travel Required: %)
