The Account Manager-SMS&P (AMS) is the most senior account manager role within SMS&P. The AMS is the account manager for a portfolio of 50 of the largest customers in the Corporate Accounts segment. The AMS develops and maintains customer relationships at the CxO level and with both the IT Decision Makers and the Business Decision Makers to demonstrate Microsoft’s commitment to helping customers solve challenges and improve their businesses.

This role is dedicated to generating revenue, deploying Microsoft products, and increasing customer satisfaction.

The AMS is not only responsible for account management, opportunity creation, and pipeline targets, but the AMS also manages the sales cycle in coordination with a Microsoft partner. The AMS orchestrates the resources (both internal and with partners) to bring the opportunity to a close.

The AMS performs this role by developing relationships and uncovering opportunities primarily using technology (i.e. phone, email, IM); however, it is not uncommon for the AMS to also make customer visits as necessary.

The successful AMS is an experienced senior sales person who enjoys a complex and fast-paced environment, who is dedicated to revenue growth and keeping his customers happy.

Qualification
Experience: 5 – 8 years of related experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.) is required; MBA is preferred

Professional Training and Certification:
Sales and partner management, complex sales training (e.g., Miller Hyman, Spin, Michael Bosworth, Holden, TAS – Target Account Selling, etc.), sales methodologies (equivalent to MSSP), broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), effective marketing tactics, negotiation, financial analysis, Line of Business applications, business process consulting or automation, CRM (Siebel or other), industry-specific certifications (as and if applicable)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated understanding of solution selling techniques and selling software solutions to business customers
- Is experienced in building strong and collaborative internal and customer BDM relationships without ever meeting in person.
- Can navigate a customer through a sales, negotiation or technical presentation via the telephone.
- Solid knowledge of the business, customers, partners, Microsoft strategy and how they work together
- Able to qualify sales opportunities and position MS partners in the overall sales process
- Demonstrated communication skills including clear and concise verbal and written business communication in local language
- Able to focus on achieving positive, concrete results contributing to business success
- Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Has passionate attitude for sales and technology as an enabler for a company’s growth.
- Has strong time management and prioritization skills; is organized and methodical in his/her approach.
- Utilizes very effective delegation skills with v-team members; establishes clear and consistent communications and expectations.
- Has a strong presence and command of every situation with a customer via the telephone.
- Able to use Microsoft applications and CRM systems.
