JOB FUNCTION – REQUIREMENTS - SUCCESS FACTORS (Why job exists, what areas it impacts on, requirements to do the job, and Success Factors)

FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE

Reporting to site EHS supervisor, the incumbent will drive consistent and continuous improvement in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices and standards whilst establishing and implementing standardized processes and practices related to the PPG EHS Management System that drives continuous improvement in Nansha plant.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist EHS supervisor to ensure that the site meets all EHS regulatory and PPG EHS requirements, and flag potential non-compliances and issues.
• Undertake regulatory and PPG reporting as required.
• Assist EHS supervisor to implement site’s EHS programs, procedures and risk assessment/prioritization towards injury free work environment.
• Support the implementation of the site’s sustainability program to achieve PPG 2025 sustainability goals.
• Assist with the facilitation of the EHS leadership team meeting at the site.
• Continuously improve the sites EHS Management system conformance to PPG EHS requirements through internal audits, including the creation and review of procedures, in addition to driving corrective action closure.
• Enable the site’s EHS Management System Element Owners.
• Monitor and support that annual EHS work plan for Nansha is completed as scheduled.
• Assist the EHS supervisor to ensure site EHS Training system and EHS training plans are in place to meet regulatory and PPG training requirements, delivering training modules as required.
• Monitor and report the completion of all Injuries, Incidents and Near Misses investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
• Monitor and ensure environmental monitoring & industrial Hygiene strategy for Nansha is completed as scheduled.
• Coordinate and support the implementation of PSM programs based on Corporate EHS requirements. 
• Ensure that Corporate/Regional or local audit finding/s within their responsibilities are closed out within agreed time frames. Track closure of all reportable findings within the corporate audit database within required timeframe.
• Review Capital Projects and Management of Change submissions related to the EHS aspects and hazards
• Setup and update the emergency response plan in Nansha Plant.
• Be responsible for EHS related governments’ liaison, to maintain the EHS permits and other EHS related regulatory compliance.
• Other roles as defined by the site EHS procedure.

Requires:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Safety, Engineering, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environment or equivalent
• 1~3 years working experience in EHS field, experience in the chemical industrial is preferred; Certified Safety Engineer license is preferred.
• Good oral and written in English.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Computer skills. Experience with using the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
