Based in mainland China, you will report to the Assistant General Counsel based in Singapore, and assist in the administration, management, and development of the Firm’s data privacy and data security & compliance programs in mainland China as well as other districts in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

Key responsibilities will include:
Specialized in the design, research and development of data compliance projects under applicable personal information protection laws, data and network security laws in China;
Keep abreast of current developments of privacy regulations in the P.R.C.;
Manage data subjects’ notification, consent, conduct cross-border data privacy impact assessment and maintain reports;
Assist to handle and coordinate firmwide data privacy activities, including but not limited to, response, investigation, logging, reporting and coordination of data privacy related incidents; responding to client related surveys and questionnaires regarding the Firm's data privacy compliance initiatives.
Promote security initiatives in protection of the Firm’s networks and data through an understanding of international security and data privacy standards such as ISO27001, ISO27701, PCI, and risk management Frameworks.
Participate in internal/external compliance audits, reviews, self-assessments, and assessments of the Firm’s regional specific and global Security and Data Privacy controls.
Work closely with external and internal stakeholders, including legal practice teams and other corporate functions to analyse and respond to privacy related issues and support DPIA reviews and processes; promote data privacy and security best practices within the region through direct engagement of partners and employees.

Qualification:
Good understanding of personal information protection, data security and network security laws and regulations in China.
Good understanding of IT systems architecture, familiar with data privacy standards such as ISO27001, ISO27701, PCI, GB/T39335—2020 (China) and Risk Management Frameworks.
Bachelor’s degree and above, preferably the BA degree in Information Technology, information security, Information Management or equivalent;
Able to work under pressure and accommodate multiple time zones;
Good communication skills, excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
Working experience in data privacy compliance will be a bonus.
