We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.
Principal responsibilities
HSBC Technology and Services – Market and Security Services (MSS) provides world-class systems and solutions for the global market business. Fixed Income normally refers to investment where the issuer has the obligation to make payment on fixed amount or fixed period. Fixed Income IT team works with global partners on providing IT software solution for GBM Fixed Income customers, which includes Retail eCommerce project (for Structure Products and Retail Bond Trading), Martini project, Regulatory XSLT project, etc.
This open job opportunity is especially for Wealth eCommerce team.
We are gradually strangling the legacy system to a new micro service platform. At one hand, the latest technic will be applied to the new platform to build a high standard, at the other hand, we need to make sure the old system run stably.
IT technology is proved to be important to the bank, a mature IT team which can sustainably deliver high volume of value to our user is critical for the bank to thrive and success. We need talents who want to embrace to the new idea to continually improve themselves and improve the team. We need talents who can roll up their sleeve to implement the good thing. We are running DevOps, the pace is moving faster and faster, all kinds of automation are needed. Automation pipeline must be built to make the release fast and straight forward, Jenkins, Ansible are the main tools, we use bash, python, groovy or even closure to batch run all the repeated jobs. TDD, BDD and selenium are used to automate all the regression and help to decouple our design and implementation. OO and functional programming are used wisely to implement our requirement more properly.

Requirements
? Develop sophisticated technical solution to fulfill business requirements and to comply with the established standards in HSBC
? Manage and participate in the entire development lifecycle, including requirement analysis , system design, development, quality assurance, testing and deployment
? Contribute to the project success in terms of schedule, budget and deliverable quality
? Cultivate effective working relationships with business users and other IT teams
? A university graduate.
? At least five years’ IT experience, with a minimum of three year in providing IT services for investment banking business.
? Solid experience in working within a full project lifecycles, from initiation through to implementation
? Solid technical knowledge on most of the following:
o Java Web Development
o Spring framework
o Test Driven Development
o HTML5, Javascript, CSS
? Experience on automation testing framework, like Selenium, Cucumber or Robot.
? Good understanding on software design principles, like OO, design patterns or business modeling.
? Good coding style, can deliver maintainable clean code.
? Experience on micro service is a plus
? Experience on continual integration/delivery technic would be a plus, like Jenkins, Ansible.
? Experience on building reactive system based on message middleware is a plus
? Experience on strangling legacy system is a plus
? Agile experience to run multiple projects in parallel
? Can do attitude with drive and coordination experience
? Good knowledge in Wealth Management products (e.g. Bonds, Equity Linked Investment, Structured Notes / Deposit) is definitely an advantage.
? Highly organized and work under pressure, able to operate in a multi-functional and matrix environment
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills
? Effective time management and prioritization skills
? Good command of English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills to deal with various local and overseas parties
? Willing to engage with other IT teams and negotiate for resources and schedules
