Role Title: Senior Software Engineer
Business: Markets Sec Services IT - Markets Operations Technology
Role Purpose / Description
- Java development to create new functions and modify existing ones to meet business requirements
- Configuration of the Cash Management and Treasury Confirmation Matching systems utilizing the Smartstream vendor tool kit
- Liaison with business users for support or development queries
- Provide support / cover for Production support issues
- Configuration/ Code management and maintenance of development and test environments
- Liaison with IT Infrastructure and other IT application teams as required
- Support specification of additional interfaces with upstream / downstream system

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- 3+ year’s experience of IT Development / Support within the financial industry domain
- Experienced Java programme with Spring Batch, Integration, Boot Frame work and good understanding of fundamental programming concepts i.e. Object orientation, transactional systems, concurrent processing
- Experience of SQL and SQL script programming
- Experience of UNIX and UNIX script programming
- Build and deployment automation tools i.e. Jenkins, Ansible, Selenium
- Knowledge and experience of Web Application servers e.g. Websphere, Weblogic, JBoss
- Knowledge and experience of queue technology e.g. Active MQ , IBM MQ Queue, STOMP
- XML (XML schema knowledge)
- Knowledge of project lifecycle, particularly technical specification, development and test phases
- Demonstrable experience of working on an operational change project
- Experience of formal development methodologies
- Familiar with the agile scrum methodology
- Familiarity with software design and implementation concepts
- Good command of both spoken and written English
