Role Purpose / Description

The Global Private Bank (GPB) has made significant progress towards establishing globally consistent, market leading products and propositions across its major booking centres. This transition into a leading global wealth manager will provide the necessary platform from which to drive sustainable returns and realise the goal of becoming the Private Bank of choice to the families of the owners and principals of the Group’s best corporate clients.
Of particular note is the focus on Growth in the Asia market. The high net worth+ (HNW) Wealth market in Asia (excluding Japan) comprises assets of c. USD12.5trn and is expected to grow at c.11% CAGR from 2017-2022. The majority of this growth is expected to be driven by the Chinese diaspora with Hong Kong and Singapore being the key recipients of offshore assets. HSBC has significant untapped potential particularly in the Ultra HNW segment in Hong Kong (c.6% market share) and all segments in Singapore (c.2% share). GPB is working closely with HSBC’s Global Retail Bank on how best to capture an increased share of this opportunity with GPB focusing on clients with more than USD5m of investible assets.
To achieve this, GPB are making significant investments into the Asia market, strengthening its portfolio of products, putting greater emphasis on our advisory and wealth services, improving our core banking and trade booking capability and making the overall Client experience a class leading one.
HSDC GPB provides system solutions and services to ensure that business for clients meets high standards in the evolving regulatory and tax environment as well as across-the-board global and regional business domains, including order capture, post-trade service, portfolio management, documentation and reports generation, decision-making support, internet banking, investment solution analysis for clients.
To cope with our expansion globally, we are now seeking experienced and self-motivated IT professionals to join our team.
The job holders will hold most or all of these responsibilities
? Act as the solution architect/key designer/Agile lead in a pod in the Private Banking China onshore project.
? Lead the delivery of the pod as a technical specialist.
? Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle, utilising skills and expertise to carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between these according to demand.
? Ensure high quality standard and on time delivery.
? Proactively learn and share domain knowledge within the delivery team.
? Establish a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high quality code and data.
? Adopt Agile delivery methodology.
? Implement DevOps in pod delivery activities according to HSBC/Private Banking standard.
? Responsible for automating the continuous integration / continuous delivery pipeline within a DevOps Product/Service team driving a culture of continuous improvement.
? Working with Ops, Dev and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
? Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency etc. that are applicable

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
? A minimum of 8 years' IT software engineering experience.
? Strong technical knowledge and track records in distributed system delivery, system integration, banking system design and implementation.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to drive independently, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines.
? Strong communication skills in spoken and written English & Mandarin.
? Strong interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
? Good project/programme management skills.
? Quick learner particularly in Finance domain knowledge.
? Quick response to the changes.
? Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative.
? Be able to work in a diversified team with different cultures.
? Experience of wealth management, private or investment banking would be preferred.
