Role Title: Consultant SpecialistBusiness: Markets &
Securities Services IT
Role Purpose / Description
The Consultant Specialist, Development role takes responsibility for delivery and consultancy of varies projects. The job holder contributes in successful delivery of projects by providing technical / application guidance to project teams and providing guidance to multiple project teams. The responsibilities entail areas such as conducting feasibility studies, requirement analysis, design and development, technology update, knowledge sharing, as well as coding. The Consultant Specialist should be aligned with group standards, IT and business strategy, meet business objectives and satisfy all relevant regulatory, architecture standards and operational risk.
The key responsibilities will include the following:
- Analysis, Design, develop and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements- Conduct system test, user acceptance test and provide support on system implementation.- Ensure a high quality standard of deliverables according to HSBC standards and best practices- Prepare project related documentation and ensure compliance and audit policies strictly followed- Reduce technical risk / debt in solution proposal, system design and implementation- Provide technical and domain consultancy and support in Commercial Banking IT- Provide in-depth knowledge transfer and on-job training / guidance to improve team productivity- Work closely with global and regional stakeholders on projects delivery- Maintain effective and good relationship between the business and the IT Project team, managing appropriate business expectations and negotiating compromise where appropriate - Can feasibly work on the task assigned by your lead
The major challenges will include the following:
- Continuously upgrading and learning various technologies / applications required for successful project delivery through continuous learning and training- Shouldering responsibility diligently and delivering quality output within the defined schedule and service levels- Consistently providing best approach for project execution- Constantly work towards improving technical / application knowledge capabilities of the teams- Continuously contribute to enhance best practices and to ensure that these are implemented within projects. Also validate that projects are following the coding and design standards and guidelines- Continuously provide valued addition to projects

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- A minimum of 6 years' IT software development experiences, strong technical knowledge and experience in Java development- Experienced in Spring and Java 8 or above
and in particular Spring Boot, Spring Boot Cloud, and Micro Services- Hand-on experience Java, Spring, J2EE and SQL technologies- Experienced in micro frameworks such as Flask, Django- Excel at JavaScript (ES5, ES6), HTML5, CSS3- Open-minded, reliable and independent, Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative- Able to work independently and effectively under pressure, have multiple project management skill, and strong problem solving skills- Cloud related development experience is an advantage- Experience on React + Redux would be an advantage- Solid skill on DevOps processes and Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools such as Confluence, Jira, Jenkins- Effective communication skills in written/oral English- Understanding HSBC API standard and security requirement is a plus
