Role Purpose / Description

Project/Team Introduction:

HSBC Insurance HK is a rapidly growing business market with manufacturing a full range of insurance products. HTC Insurance team provides technology solutions to Regional Insurance in Hong Kong to support the business. Its responsibility is to deliver and support a portfolio of world class software to enable the HSBC Insurance strategy in Hong Kong. The primary focus of the team includes software design, development, testing, implementation and support.

Job Duties:

The job holder will have to perform the following duties:
? Perform research and feasibility studies to identify and evaluate different solutions to address business need.
? Ensure all activities performed within the team adhere to the group IT and security standards.
? Adopt and provide ongoing improvement on development process and promote usage of right tooling.
? Work closely with the Technical Lead to ensure efficient flow of the backlog of change activities and drive technology change within/across teams.
? Provide support to the solution architect to ensure that solutions and services are supported by the right architectures & systems.
? Work closely with regional IT teams (HK, Guangzhou) in project implementation and support.
? Provide coaching and support to the junior teammates.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications


Candidate Specifications:

Technical skill
? Minimum 7 years' software development experience, preferably in an enterprise or a global environment.
? Experienced in software requirement analysis, solution proposal, functional design, technical design, coding, testing, release and production support.
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills, able to work independently and think out of the box, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines.
? Strong technical background and fast learner, able to guide/coach junior members to achieve project targets.
? Familiar with Agile/DevOps approach and practices, solid experiences in DevOps tooling (e.g. JIRA, RTC, ARCAD, Jenkins, etc.). Experienced in automation test and performance test will be an advantage.
? Knowledge in Insurance business areas and LOMA certified will be advantage.
? Be familiar with AS400, RPGLE, CL, COBOL on iSeries. SMART COBOL is more appreciated.
? Be familiar with MQ, CD/CE gateway, sFTP, R2DS, etc.

Soft skill:
? A highly-motivated individual with positive and proactive attitude. Open minded and adaptive to changes.
? Confident to interact directly with people of different culture. (HK, Guangzhou)
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills in spoken and written English.
? Willing to travel with mobility on project base.
