The Marketing team at Meltwater directly contributes to the business by engaging with existing clients and prospects to convert them as leads to generate sales. Supporting a fast growing team of media experts, we are constantly on the lookout for the latest trends and updates, staying ahead of the game and pushing boundaries. Our day to day includes not only connecting with the sales teams, but also data analysis and creating deliverables, and helping build engagement with our clients through field marketing and digital marketing.

About this role

As the Head of Marketing for China region, you will lead a small team to run our customer-facing Marketing efforts in China. You will lead the Marketing programs and partner with our China leadership team to drive consideration and create demand for our products and solutions among potential and current clients. You will be focused on influencing the customer journey, including: crafting messaging and positioning for PR and Marketing buyers and driving customer-oriented programs. You will be a critical driver for initiatives that highlight the wins of our best customers to inspire others, including customer advocacy programs, case studies, customer references, and customer education. You will partner with centralized teams, including product marketing, digital marketing and design teams to tailor initiatives in the China market.

The ideal candidate has a passion for media intelligence and data driven solutions to Marketing and PR, exceptional communication skills with an entrepreneurial spirit, the ability to quickly grasp technology concepts, solid knowledge and experiences in using marketing tools, public relations and digital marketing campaign development and execution.

What you will be doing?

  • Full ownership and accountability for marketing strategy, budget and campaign execution for the Greater China region

  • Working closely with our senior leadership team locally in China to develop and drive regional Marketing strategies

  • Plan and execute digital marketing programs, specifically SEM, WeChat ads and Zhihu, and field Marketing campaigns , such as webinars, events and EDMs, to drive new business revenue, customer retention and loyalty, and upsell and cross-sell opportunities

  • Create high-performing SEO content in simplified Chinese that adheres to Meltwater style guidelines and standards

  • Act as a strong partner with our sales organisation to provide best-in-class customer experience and reach our business goals

  • Elevate the Meltwater brand name by generating social exposure, media coverage, develop content for social media channels and local blog etc

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to source (or produce) content and educational material that builds awareness of Meltwater capabilities and accelerates the sales process in China

  • Report results, track performance, and identify optimisation opportunities

  • Optimize each marketing touchpoint using data, including top-of-funnel channels like social media and blogging, middle-of-funnel channels like email nurturing, and bottom-of-funnel activities with sales teammates

  • Support overall marketing team goals and programs, ensuring their success in your region

  • 与中国高层管理团队紧密合作,发展并主导本地区市场营销策略

  • 制定并执行数字营销项目(SEM,微信推广与知乎等),区域营销项目(线上分享会,线下沙龙与EDM等),拓展新的商务机会并维系客户忠诚度

  • 依据Meltwater既有标准与搜索引擎优化(SEO)技巧,创作优质的中文内容

  • 配合销售团队,提供***的客户体验并达成Meltwater的商业目标

  • 增加社交媒体曝光与媒体覆盖,提升Meltwater的品牌知名度

  • 与内外部合作方共同产出内容与教育性材料,加快中国区销售流程

  • 定期汇报工作结果,追踪活动表现,挖掘潜在商机

  • 以数字化思维实现营销活动的最优触达,形式包括但不限于社交媒体营销,电子邮件,以及与销售团队合作的各类市场活动。

  • 支持全球营销团队在中国区的各类项目,确保团队目标在中国区的达成。



What we would like to see from you

  • 4-8 years of experience in strategic marketing and public relations, with a focus on demand generation, database marketing, content marketing, digital marketing or marketing programs

  • Strong abilities in digital marketing tactics, specifically China SEM, WeChat ads and Feeds ads

  • Robust experience organizing events, workshops, conferences

  • Experience in SEO, content creation and distribution in China

  • Ability to write effective copy is a necessity

  • Strong relationship management skills and thrive in customer-facing opportunities

  • Proven track-record of success in partnering with Sales for common goals

  • Ability to think strategically and develop comprehensive, data-driven marketing plans

  • Ability to synthesize complex ideas into actionable recommendations for senior executives

  • Able to analyze the marketing funnel through data, identify and size different growth opportunities and the various ways to meet them

  • Great attention to detail and project management skills. This role requires balancing several initiatives together

  • Results-driven, Self-motivated, organized, proactive, collaborative

  • Innovative, curious, constantly seeking new ideas, news ways of doing things, up to date on the latest marketing trends

  • Chinese native, with good English in both written and spoken

  • Bachelor’s degree, with emphasis on communications, marketing, and/or business is a plus
