And we are having fun while doing so.We are seeking a talented, motivated and experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering Department in creating world class electrical designs for consumer robotic systems. The candidate must have extensive knowledge and experience in magnetics, power conversion and power supply design. The successful candidate will lead or enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team of some of the best and brightest engineers, engaging in the analysis, design, documentation, testing and manufacturing of complex robotic systems. The candidate will also suggest and work on improvements and enhancements for existing designs, participating in troubleshooting and field failure analysis. This position requires excellent technical capabilities and communication skills.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

? Develop and design solutions for complex systems or subsystems as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, with specific focus on power electronics. That includes performing or directing circuit design and analysis, generating schematics and selecting components, conducting design reviews and supervising PCB layouts.

? Lead, perform, or direct and document test and verification activities at the electrical system and/or subsystem level.

? Coordinate and/or direct activities between engineering and customers both internal and external, suppliers, trade groups and test houses.

? Consult with other engineers and program teams charged with sustaining engineering activities in order to ensure continuity of production or customer commitments.

? Verify second source of power electronics components.

REQUIRED SKILLS

? Strong knowledge and experience in AC-to-DC, and DC-to-DC power conversion and power supply designs in the 30W to 100W power range.

? Expert understanding of the theory and application of magnetics to power conversion designs with focus on maximizing efficiency.

? Extensive experience with Finite Element Analysis as applied to designing magnetics

? Trade-off analysis of conflicting requirements, especially for cost sensitive and high efficiency designs

? Demonstrable ability to create detailed hardware and functional specifications

? Good understanding of control theory and practical experience especially in power conversionwith knowledge of design for EMI, EMC/ESD with safety regulation

? Experience with designs as part of Microcontroller/Microprocessor based systems

? Fluency in English as working language is a must with written engineering analysis skills

? BSEE/MSEE preferred with 5~10+ years of relevant experience

? Ability to travel through South China within 2-3 hrs driving distance from Guangzhou roughly twice a monthDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

? Experience with robotic systems

? Experience with circuit simulation tools (SPICE, etc.)

? Experience with system simulation tools (Ansys Simplorer)

? Experience with electromagnetic field simulation software (Maxwell, COMSOL, etc.)

? Intermediate / advanced Altium Designer skills
