Position Title: Packaging Engineer

General Summary:

InterDesign USA Company, located in downtown Guangzhou, TianHe District is looking for a Packaging Engineer to assist in the development, communication, execution and quality control of product packaging as well as inner and outer carton packaging.

This role will report directly to the Director of Asia Operations; however, they will take guidance from and support the US Graphics and Sourcing teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ability execute a desired packaging solution for consumer goods exported to International customers.
• Work with printing vendors on problem solving of design, dimensions, color approvals and other issues that may come up.
• Implementation of a color and packaging consistency program with vendors and printers.
• Ability to engineer protective packaging requirements, cartons and other packaging elements.
• Close teamwork with the U.S. Graphics/packaging Department on follow up of issues and approvals.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Directory of Asia Operations or US Management.

Education Requirement:

• Bachelor Degree from 4 year University (Graphic Design or Art related field preferred).

Experience Requirement:

• Creation of consumer products packaging.
• Past experience working for a US company.
• Past experience working with China factories (China printing factories is a plus).
• Previous experience with major US retailers (e.g. Walmart, Target) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate in a Chinese office and manufacturing setting
• Self-motivated and well organized

Work Environment:

• Frequent travel to factory locations in China.
• Accessibility to US office via conference call.
• Potential for travel to US for training
