Introduction:

Part of the Practices & Innovation function, the Advanced Operational Efficiency team support Group Functions’ 400+ IT teams to achieve the goals of double the number of releases, half the number of incidents and quarter toil.  It offers, amongst others, the following services:

Practices & Reliability

Re-engineering of traditional ITSM practices towards DevOps-aligned, principles-based approaches. 

Implementation of advanced reliability techniques and approaches such as Site Reliability Engineering. 

Thematic reviews & trend analysis, and initiatives to identify hidden technical debt and toil. 

Strategies for ITSM Practices & Controls in the Public Cloud, to support apps migration. 

Monitoring Automation

AIOps architectures and solutions design, implementation, evaluation and roll out. 

Roll out, optimisation and training of modern monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk. 

Batch re-engineering for best-practices, self-service management, enhanced monitoring, APIs and STP. 

Service Desk & Self-Service

Implementation of end-user Service Desks and IT workflows, with a strong focus on self-service. 

Ticket avoidance via knowledge management and solutions such as smart searches, bots, etc. 

Job Duties:

The job holder will have to perform duties related to the ‘Monitoring Automation’ section above with an aim to onboard and make best use of AppDynamics, including

-       Define the best practices about how to use AppDynamics to monitor business transactions as well as server metrics

-       Share the best practice and train up project teams to onboard to use AppDynamics

-       Assist project teams to install and configure AppDynamics agents, and troubleshoot issues encountered
