职位描述

Role Title: Software Engineering Manager
Business: IT Infrastructure Delivery
Role Purpose / Description Digital Business Automation is a global function with over 200 employees across 12 entities. We are responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of workload automation in HSBC. Our products and services are consumed by all the Global Businesses and Global Functions and underpin their critical applications and processes. We also develop and offer task, process, and system automation capabilities to enable the Global Businesses and Global Functions to leverage greater efficiencies.
? The job holder is accountable for the day-to-day management of the team in China.
? The team in China is currently focussed on operations and production support activities, however the strategy is to increase the size and scope of the team over the next 18 months to support all functions and role-types within Digital Business Automation.
? Key responsibilities are managing the performance of the team members, supporting individuals in developing their skills and experiences, and helping to embed Agile working practices into the teams.
? You will also be expected to act as a point of escalation for issues raised by customers and stakeholders, and be able to successfully manage these through to conclusion.
? As the Country Head for China you will work alongside the Global Heads in Digital Business Automation to ensure that their teams are delivering the services and capabilities required by the business in China, and to promote our service offerings and the benefits they could bring to the business in China.
? As the Country Head you will also be expected to oversee all areas of operational risk, embedding a strong risk management culture across the team to ensure issues are identified and remediated in a timely manner.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications Skills
? Excellent English language skills, both written communication and verbal.
? Strong Cantonese language skills are desirable but not essential.
? Strong attention to detail with an ability to deliver across multiple workstreams at pace.
? Ability to assimilate technical information and communicate complex issues concisely.
? Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and develop enduring relationships with global stakeholders.
? Sound understanding of operational risk with the ability to identify and drive the remediation of risks and issues.
? Effective interpersonal skills and an inclusive management style.
? Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
? Strong understanding of Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum, Kanban.
? Prior experience of managing technologies such as BMC Control-M or IBM Workload Scheduler for z/OS is desirable but not essential. Experience
? Prior experience of managing IT team(s), in particular improving team performance.
? Experience of working in global IT teams with exposure to different cultures and ways of working.
? Proven experience of working in an Agile manner in either an operations or engineering / development environment.
? Prior experience of utilizng automation and orchestration products is desirable but not essential.
? Prior experience of native Cloud technologies (e.g. GCP, AWS) is desirable but not essential.
