岗位职责:

Summary of Responsibilities:
？ Internal Medicine hospitalists will provide quality care to the hospitalized patients. Through collaborating with primary care physicians and other specialists, hospitalists will contribute to clinical integration.

Responsibilities
？ Provide up-to-date and evidence based medicine to adult patients in general ward and intensive care unit
？ Respond 24/7 to medical consultations in the hospital
？ Admit acutely ill patient from emergency department and Internal Medicine Clinics.
？ Receive patients from the physician going off duty and make hospital rounds at the start of their shift.
？ Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients in Internal Medicine Department (including urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentation) and ICU
？ Order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings
？ Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including blood gases, radiology, ECG, etc.
？ Collect information and organize medical documents
？ Undertake education and clinical research in BJU
？ Promptly respond to any calls from the Nursing staff and immediately come to evaluate any changes or problems noted with any patient on the Ward
？ Direct communication with the Consultant so as to communicate the reason the consult is being requested. The Hospitalist will be available to meet with the Consultant when he/she comes to the Hospital. The specific issues/questions to be addressed.
？ Regular communication with the Nursing staff so that any changes in treatment plan, medical certificates, insurance forms, etc. can be addressed early in the shift.
？ Help with medical development programs of internal medicine, such as develop rules, training plans and QI monitoring systems for hospitalist programs etc
？ Evaluate surgical, orthopaedic, obstetric patients at the request of their attending doctors; make recommendations and follow the patients during hospitalization with varying degrees of involvement.
？ Take in house on call as assigned by chief hospitalist.
？ Engage in regular discussions of QI, both within their own division and with other services, and should hold case discussions and M&Ms with some regularity.
？ Participate in community events coordinated by Beijing United Hospital
？ At least one Hospitalist shall be present in the hospital at all times so as to ensure excellent continuity of patient care. Rotation schedule to be determined. One Hospitalist on during days for a week, e.g. 8am-8pm, and a Nocturnist, seems to work well and ensures good continuity of care.
？ Take an active role in instituting hospital wide compliance with specified Core Measures.
？ Admit patient from ER, communication with ER doctors before admit patients to ward. In case of some emergent events, can refer to ER doctor to help.
？ Primary care physician may choose to write admission orders or ask the Hospitalist to take that responsibility. Hospitalist shall discuss with the patient’s primary care physician on discharge treatment and follow-up care
？ Refer a patient to specialists if necessary
？ Other responsibility signed by chair of Internal Medicine.

Qualifications:
？ Graduates from accredited medical schools.
？ Completion of the residency training in internal medicine, critical care medicine, or emergency medicine in a 3A hospital in China or a western training equivalent.
？ Post-graduated students with a master degree with clinical training in a 3A hospital in China or a western training equivalent.

Skills:
？ Communicating effectively orally and in writing
？ Showing willingness to learn from mistakes
？ Working collaboratively with team members

Knowledge:
？ Completion of the residency training in internal medicine, critical care medicine, or emergency medicine in a 3A hospital in China or a western training equivalent.
？ Post-graduated students with a master degree with clinical training in a 3A hospital in China or a western training equivalent.
