Role Title:Associate Software Engineer Manager

Project/Team Introduction:
HSBC Insurance is a rapidly growing business, manufacturing a full range of insurance products in all countries.
HSBC Actuarial and Risk Analytics has highly skilled actuaries and professionals who are heavily involved in the design, development and management of Insurance, Pensions and Investment products in Insurance Business.
Insurance Risk IT data engineering team is the global IT team to provide technical advice and support on the strategic data management platform for HSBC Actuarial and Risk Analytics users. The team works on Insurance Risk Data Management Programme (IRDMP) which is the project for HSBC to fulfill the requirement of BCBS 239. IRDMP is also the data platform to support IFRS 17 in Insurance Business.
Role Purpose / Description
? Primary responsibility is to provide technical advice on the Insurance Risk Data Management Platform on Big Data and Data Warehouse for Insurance Risk manufacturing countries
? Collect and understand the request and requirement from the actuarial users
? Work with project team in Hong Kong, Guangzhou and XiAn to deliver Insurance Risk Data Management Platform related project items on time and with quality and customer satisfaction
? Communicate with UK, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, India IT partners for project management, such as project planning, progress report, risk and issue.
? Participate in Insurance Risk Data Management Platform related production and audit support
? Lead the data engineering team in XiAn and Guangzhou to provide the data management professional service
? Ensured the design and solution is fully aligned HSBC standards, IT strategy and Data Architectural direction
? Drive the data engineering team to align to the DevOps and Agile practice in HSBC

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
? University graduate degree in computer science, information technology or related discipline
? Experience over 6 years in software development and application production support
? Experience over 2 years in project management
? Specialized experience in Business Intelligent or Hive related development and support in Unix/Linux platform
? Hands on experience in shell script, control-M, Teradata, Datastage, Cognos, Hive, Hadoop, Pentaho and Qliksense
? Excellent communication and written skills
? Proven experience in different stages of the application development process including design, development, testing, deployment and training
? Ability to understand and act upon business requirements, concerns and constraints
? Ability to negotiate, resolve conflicts and defend technical choices relating to business, development and architectural requirements
? Experience in Data Management tools in Google Cloud Platform is definitely advantage
? Strong analytical, design and problem solving skills
? Ability to work under pressure and self-motivated
? Willing to learn about technology and bring new ideas to the team.
? Ability to lead, motivate and develop technical personnel, including mentoring and coaching software engineer with passion
? Knowledge in Insurance or Risk business discipline is an advantage
