Role Title: Software Engineer
Business: OSS - Operations Shared Services
Role Purpose / Description OBS (Online Banking System) is an in-house developed, mainframe based ‘bank in a box’ supporting majority of banking applications for retail and corporate businesses of AMH and HASE banks in Hong Kong.
OBS serves as the backend for major channels, including branch network, Personal Internet banking, ATM, Phonebanking, Digital, HSBCnet, etc. It also serves back offices and processing centres in various sites (Guangzhou, Foshan, Malaysia, etc).
As more and more projects are built/setup in OBS, we are now sincerely inviting experienced IT professional to join our team.
The job holder will have to perform the following duties: - With guiding can perform development, deployment, testing and production release for projects, which span across multiple platforms
- Coordinate system tests and provide support during project implementation to ensure quality of deliverables
- Have knowledge with Core banking product features.
- Perform trouble shooting activities
- Prepare project-related documentation
-Provide production support to systems
-Work closely related IT systems’ team and proactively communicate with other overseas partners as well.

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications-University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
-1-3 year working experience in IT industry, or knowledge in Core Banking industry will be an advantage.
- Technical skills or project experience on Mainframe CICS, COBOL, DB2, MQ are definite advantages
- Good analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
-Proactive, self-motivated, open-minded and able to work as part of a team
-Able to work independently and effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills in English/Putonghua. Strong command of written English.
