Role Title: Senior Architect
Business: Data Services
Role Purpose / Description
- Provide innovative and practical designs that accounts for the end-to-end solution of a function that is in line with the business objectives
- Deliver architecture that supports the most efficient and secure solutions meeting business needs
- Manage the relationship between business and external/internal IT services
- Ensures that the product is developed in accordance with the overall architectural strategy and the development team adheres to valid design guidelines and standards
- Experience of optimizing complex systems and working with business to solve problems using technology
- Experience of 'owning' the design of a major/large component of an application or software architecture
- Works with the technology services team to ensure non-functional requirements are captured and implemented as expected
- Conducting design and architectural review with the wider architecture community
- Re-use of architectural artefacts like business services, APIs, and functions
- Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of processes and technologies

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
- Good understanding of current market architecture and capabilities
- Experience in building distributed / service oriented / micro services style and cloud based architectures
- Understanding of target architecture view
- Understanding of market platform
- Experience implementing enterprise architectures
- Experience designing solutions
- Deep knowledge of the selected packaged architecture components
- Understanding of how the required functionality would be supported by the application technology
- Ability to define and communicate the “big picture” in terms of the overall solution (both functional and technical components) and break it down into smaller manageable work units
- Understanding of the concepts of re-use and when to apply
