Role Title: Lead Architect Business: Regional CIO - Peak
Role Purpose / Description
HSBC RBWM (Retail Banking and Wealth Management) is currently undergoing a huge transformation program upgrading all core digital technologies that transforms the way traditional systems design, develop, deploy, and manage the applications they create. The new digital technology platform is entirely cloud based (hybrid private-public cloud) and because of its transformational nature, there are lots of products and projects that need to be re-designed, augmented, enhanced, or even replaced.
The knowledge and the breadth of experience of the Technical Architect will be extremely important for the success of the product / project and the transformation program as a whole. RBWM Digital is looking for an exceptional and passionate Technical Architect to provide innovative and practical architectural designs that adheres to time, cost, and quality constraints for each project including quality documentation and deliverables and ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the group’s standards of ethical behaviour. Requirements & Responsibilities
-Provide innovative and practical designs that accounts for the end-to-end solution of a function that is in line with the business objectives
-Deliver architecture and implementations that supports the most efficient and secure solutions meeting business needs and controlling operational risk
-Experience of optimizing complex systems and working with business to solve problems using technology
-Experience of 'owning' the design of a major/large component of an application or software architecture
-Conducting design and architectural review with the wider architecture community
-Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of processes and technologies
-Direct involvement in implementation of foundational architecture services (e.g. CI/CD, automated testing, ..) to be used by development teams
-Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits, impacts

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
-Mandatory Skills & Knowledge
-Ability to breakdown and explain complex technical solutions to audiences with varying degrees of knowledge and technical capabilities
-Ability to analyze business requirement user stories and model it domain based services
-Experience in designing complex distributed / service oriented / micro services style and cloud based systems, with focus on scalability, maintainability and extensibility
-Experience in designing integrations between different systems, working with different teams and driving an agreement on the technologies and methods to use
-Experience with at least one Cloud Based Platform (Cloud Foundry, Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)
-Experience developing cloud architecture and design, cloud business case, cloud security, network and storage design
-Working knowledge on native cloud development framework
-Experience in CI/CD technologies, concepts and tools
-Hands on using native cloud development framework such as spring boot, Netflix OSS, Spring cloud
-Working knowledge on using cloud PaaS platforms such as Pivotal cloud foundry, Redhat Open shift, IBM bluemix, Elastic Beanstalk, Azure App Services
-Good understanding of the key differences to architect and design enterprise cloud native solutions (12factor.net) compare to traditional data center based solutions
-Practitioner of agile methodologies
-Enthusiastic, persuasive and self-starter, ability to motivate team members
-Ability to lead engineering teams and resolve technical issues
-A track record of delivering significant change which improves business effectiveness in sustainable ways
-Set and achieved challenging short, medium and long term goals which exceeded the standards in their field
-Built effective networks both internally and externally and created opportunities for others to work collaboratively
Preferred Skills & Knowledge
-Relevant industry certification (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Cloud Certified, Pivotal Certified, CISSP, etc.).
-Knowledge of front end technologies (JavaScript, Node.js, Angular.js, Backbone).
-Experience working in Middleware products such as TIBCO, MuleSoft, IBM Message Broker, etc.
-Experience with relational database system (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle)
-Experience with open data systems (e.g., MongoDB, CassandraDB, CouchDB, Redis).
-Familiarity with design patterns (e.g., Cloud, Integration, Presentation).
-Experience implementing security such as OAuth, SAML, Single Sign On, Mobile Device Management, etc
