OVERALL FUNCTION:
To manage the purchasing function for NAS Guangzhou. To ensure school is purchasing goods and services as required to meet its on-going needs and does so at the most competitive prices.

DETAILED FUNCTIONS TO INCLUDE:

1. Processing purchase orders received from staff
2. Ensuring orders are appropriately authorized and within budget
3. Sourcing goods & services from suppliers
4. Negotiating best prices and terms with suppliers
5. Establishing preferential agreements with suppliers
6. Conducting regular reviews of existing and potential suppliers to ensure the school is receiving the best service standards
7. Communicating with staff on the status of orders
8. Checking delivery of goods/services matches orders
9. Checking invoices and passing for payment
10. Monitoring spend to budget and reporting to Principal and other budget holders
11. Supervising and training other purchasing staff.

PERSONAL SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Good organization skills in terms of document preparation, contract administration and other general office duties
2. Good communication skills in liaising with school internal customers and suppliers
3. Good English knowledge and strong in both oral and writing
4. Be able to work to deadlines, present information clearly and concisely and have the ability to collate, analyze and interpret statistical information.
5. Excellent computer skills.
6. Proven experience of working in a similar purchasing environment would be preferred.
7. Experience of managing other purchasing staff.
