The British School of Guangzhou is looking for a qualified Teaching Assistant with professional music/instrumental teaching experiences to join the Early Years Team.

  

 

  

Key Responsibilities:

  

 

  

Planning, Teaching and Class Management

  

Teach allocated pupils by planning their teaching to achieve progression of learning through:

  

• Planning for all lessons according to the school system and Juilliard curriculum uploaded onto Teams.

• Have a strong understanding of EYFS and how Early Years student access and learn in the classroom.

• Be able to differentiate lessons to suit the needs and age groups of the class.

• Understanding and applying effective classroom management;

• Understanding and applying a range of teaching strategies;

          

 

  

Monitoring, Assessment, Recording, Reporting

  

• Be confident in using Tapestry to record and assess pupil progress.

• Use performance data to evaluate pupils' progress and set appropriate targets for improvement;

    

 

  

Other Professional Requirements

  

• Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the school;

• Take account of wider curriculum developments;

• Communicate learning objectives;

• Support the music teacher in class, help to prepare documents/props outside of class hours.

        

 

  

OTHER

  

• Any other appropriate duties as allocated by the Principal, Director of Performing Arts or Head of EYFS.

   

    

Qualifications Requirements:

  

 

  

• Bachelor’s Degree or above (preferably in Music Education / Preschool Education etc.)

• Ability to write and speak meaningful English

• Ability to play the Piano. Piano certificate (Grade 6-8) is preferred

• Ability to work independently

• Ability to communicate clearly with students and others

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

• Attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and remain calm

• Willingness to take on multiple tasks

• High levels of personal integrity
