POSITION : Legal manager

REPORTS TO: General Counsel

LOCATION: Guangzhou/Shenzhen

SUBORDINATES: 4 Staffs

POSITION SUMMARY:

1. Support business leaders and functional heads with contract review and legal advice on general matters, as well as support ad hoc projects or issues from legal and statutory perspectives.

2. Draft and review retail and sourcing operations contracts in apparel industry for the Mainland China and maintain standardized contract review and administration.

3. Provide professional advice and practical solutions to issues arising during normal business operations.

4. Closely collaborate and partner with internal business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify, address and communicate risks, and to understand relevant business objectives

5. Handle and manage IP matters

6. Assist corporate Legal Department on global initiatives such as mergers, dispositions and other strategic transactions

7. Develop and deliver training or direction internally on matters related to sound business practices and corporate governance.

8. Streamline and drive efficiency in contract review and completion by creating and maintaining form agreements and other processes, as appropriate

9. Keep abreast of latest development of rules and regulations which are related to or affecting operations.

10. Provides support to Group General Counsel on different projects and assignments as allocated from time to time

1. Internal: Business leaders; functional heads; corporate Legal counterparts.

2. External: Outside counsel; vendors and other business partners.

   ORGANIZING: Meticulous planner and executor who works well on his/her own and also works well with internal customers; orchestrates multiple activities at once and arranges information in useful manner; breaks works into steps, and adjusts for changes; spends time on what’s important; eliminates roadblocks to completion.

   CUSTOMER FOCUS: Understands needs of business and organization; dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers; establishes effective relationships by nurturing respect and trust; acts with company and colleagues in mind; keeps matters confidential.

   COMMUNICATION: Provides information effectively so others can make accurate decisions; able to write clearly and succinctly so others understand issues and options; deals comfortably with all levels within the organization; is able to effectively present facts as well as controversial topics.

   QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

1. Education and Experience: with minimum 8 years’ experience in law firms and/or in-house. Familiar with PRC laws and regulations. Demonstrate familiarity with business and legal practices in commercial or sourcing operations in apparel industry.

   Skills:

1. High level of accuracy in work, attentive to details

2. Self-motived and ability to work under tight deadlines; ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high pressure environment

3. Good organizational and time management abilities with proficiency to multi-task and prioritize workload; solid decision-making skills

4. Work successfully with business teams in multiple physical locations and time zones, with colleagues of various cultures and nationalities

5. Have strong interpersonal skills and a highly collaborative working style, with demonstrated success working in small teams, playing a hands-on role to meet a variety of legal needs of the businesses. Be comfortable working and building relationships with people based in other parts of the world via telephone and electronic communication methods.

6. Excellent written and oral English and Chinese, Putonghua (Cantonese ) a must
