Role Title: Consultant Specialist Business: Global Banking Markets IT Role Purpose / Description
? The Prime Finance SBL Post Trade IT Team requires an experienced Java/Perl developer to be part of a team for on-going development in and around the Equity Finance FIS/Sungard GlobalOne Stock Borrow/Loan trading and processing system. The team is part of a larger Global team, based in the HK and China. The Securities Finance area comprises 3 key business streams, namely Stock Borrowing/Lending (SBL), Equity Swaps and Repo, and is a business area that is undergoing significant growth and investment in HSBC with high business visibility
? To ensure IT can continue to support the business and the IT plan, a person with solid experience and good communication skills in English is urgently required to be part of this development team.
? To provide IT leadership, drive, energy and commitment to the business

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
? Assist development manager in delivering the global strategy across all PostTrade SBL IT applications
? Guide staff development and assist line managers to promote the highest professional standards within the team and across different regions
? New developments in Java and Perl driven from the translation of Functional Specifications (FRD’s).
? Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIM, ISR, etc) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour.
? Creation of technical specifications where applicable
? Peer/Code reviewing across development Independently managing assigned project deliverables against project plans
? Production of software delivery artefacts and all relevant accompanying documentation
? Assisting in designing and overseeing execution of the test plans
? High level of Quality Control, through use of JUnit or other tools
? Working with BA’s/SME’s to produce optimal delivery requirements
? Working with the business where necessary to facilitate new developments
? Progress and status reporting to immediate management for owned work streams
? Introduce new techniques, products, services, technologies, standards and tools where needed
