Role Title:Consultant Specialist
Business: Global Banking & Markets IT Role Purpose / Description
- Expert in Architecture and Design skills
- Well versed with Non Functional requirements who can work towards architecting top performing, highly available, scalable, maintainable distributed applications which are going to be deployed globally
- Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems
- Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems
- Provide technical design, development, implementation and maintenance of core trade processing systems to supported business units
- Complete detailed technical analysis that describes input, output and logical operation
- Work with business analysts and architects to define and plan the changes to the HSS IT systems, identifying effort and requirements and ensuring plans are in place
- Supervise the rectification of production system issues with the minimum disruption to the business
- Contribute to the technical leadership for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of Digital & Data systems to supported business units
- Work with other IT departments to define and plan the introduction of changes to existing systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars), internal control standards and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour

- Extensive experience in enterprise data security
- Knowledge of patterns, and systemlevel design.
- Broad experience unit testing tools such as Junit
- Oracle DB experience and working with PL/SQL or other DB
- Utilising XML and in particular financial XML
- MQ integration understanding queue structures
- Knowledge of scheduling tools such as Control M.
- Continuous integration tools such as SVN, Maven and Jenkins.
- Solid experience with Jira projects
- Excellent knowledge of the project life-cycle and applicationdevelopment process
- Proven ability to articulate and synthesise complex issues in simple language to support problem analysis
- Good communication and interpersonal skill. Fluent English speaker
- Proven ability to prioritise competing demands and monitor and control activities
- Track record of delivering within global teams
- Good capacity planning and estimation skills
- High level of personal drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously
- Extensive logical problem solving and resolution management skills
- A wide knowledge of IT hardware, software, operations and networks
- Proven structured programming techniques
- Demonstrated ability in required programming language
- Risk management/mitigation skills
- Excellent written skills
- Commercial acumen
