PRIMARY FUNCTION
Deliver upon value, quality and speed corporate objectives by supporting strategic fabric planning, leveraging and production for all Owned Brand Apparel and Sleepwear departments. Enhance Target's reputation through responsible sourcing by defining expectations for our business partners to oversee and validate their manufacturing network. Partner with Headquarter (HQ) and Overseas (OS) sourcing counterparts, Sustainability and Compliance Teams, Fabric Suppliers and 3rd party auditors to monitor, track and elevate the performance of our supply chain.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Chain Role
· Act as the primary contact for internal & external counterparts regarding supplier performance evaluation, laboratory certification, MSIP/eMSIP, Facility Matrix Management Process, and training and on-boarding.
· Provide supplier evaluations and laboratory certification status to appropriate internal partners, and work on key reporting needs.
· Collaborate with internal partners to update existing performance reporting by incorporating needed data to maintain a single source of truth
· Support in Refining Target supplier performance scorecard to create a process to holistically assess performance.
· Monitor the re-evaluation of mills, laboratory certification status, and the implementation of MSIP/eMSIP.
· Partner with Sourcing teams to communicate with suppliers to elevate their performance
· Collect supplier performance report; identify opportunities to use objective performance data through a database.
· Collaborate with PD&D and Sustainability Teams to initiate/maximize Target sustainability/ production efficiency initiatives.
· Partner with the Business Partners to increase accountability for their supply chain regarding environmental and social compliance.
· Collaborate, implement and optimize the development of interim tools to support supply chain strategies.
· Support sustainability and social compliance teams on any trainings or evaluations for raw material suppliers.
? Establishes and maintains key supplier relationships to ensure continued partnership and compliance with Target standards and expectations.
? Develop fabric suppliers by ensuring suppliers are coached on standard procedures and business expectations. Works with suppliers on improving production efficiency and business execution.
? Monitors supplier performance and initiates corrective action plans when improvements needed
? Ensure suppliers have met all Target requirements: BPM, MQP, MSIP, Higg Index, 3rd party audits and other key initiatives
? Coach and train suppliers on Target procedures and processes, business expectations and best method.
Additional Duties
? Provides advice on Best Methods/processes to support Strategic Sourcing Initiatives.
? Identifies opportunities for process improvements/changes within Fabric Sourcing Team.
? Partners with the training team to provide training to local team members as identified
? Provides support to MD, Directors, and Managers on various projects and research as needed.
? Identifies and participates in training and development opportunities designed to improve professional skills and personal growth.
? Other projects as assigned.
Self Development
? Owns personal development through continuous learning and proactively seeks new assignments that build knowledge and improve skills.
? Assists with training of new team members as needed.
Brand Management
? Ensures the work environment is Fast, Fun and Friendly (FFF).
? Behaves everyday with integrity and trust and always acts a Target Brand Ambassador.
? Promotes TSS focus areas and links own work to Target's vision and values.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Degree/diploma in Textiles or equivalent work experience.
? 4 - 6 years experience in textile manufacturing or 3rd party evaluators/ laboratories.
? Strategically focused.
? Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving abilities.
? Ability to work independently, and under general direction.
? Strong initiative: proactive and self-motivated.
? Good negotiation, interpersonal and leadership skills.
? Comfortable with ambiguity.
? Team player.
? Ability to establish strong relationships with cross-functional teams, mills, and 3rd party lab.
? Knowledge of mill manufacturing and 3rd party lab.
? Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
? Meeting management/facilitation skills.
? Excellent communication skills in local and English language, both written and verbal.
? Computer literate, understanding of Excel, PowerPoint, Access, database management, e-mail base communication.
? Availability to travel in assigned country and internationally.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS:
? Retailer, textiles with strong technical background
? Have knowledge and experience of environmental & social compliance laws, quality control/ assurance processes and procedures.
? Working experience in textile product testing and fabric manufacturing
Yarn manufacturing
Greige manufacturing (weaving & Knitting)
Fabric Dyeing and finishing.
? Have knowledge and understanding on Sustainability/ Production Efficiency practices related to textile industry.
Candidate with less expereince will be considerred as Fabric Planner.
