The PjM: Delivers engagements within the constraints of a scope, schedule, features/functionality, and budget. Manages the work that must be done in order to deliver an integrated solution usually composed of products, services, or a formalized solution offering. Establishes a strategy of continuous risk management that enables proactive decisions and actions throughout the project life cycle and create an environment to support it where the project team has visible, measurable, and repeatable processes for managing these risks. Executes established (as mutually agreed to) policies and procedures for the project, e.g. quality assurance, team reference guide, communication plan, and setting up the environment. Manages (as mutually agreed) Microsoft resources, partners and/or customer resources and materials (equipment, supplies, stock, or consumable/perishable items) used to complete tasks in a project. Maintains the Master Project Plan to include at least: the Communication Plan (communications within the team and between the team and external entities) and the Team Reference Guide Plan (identifies team and external team members). In addition, maintains the Master Project Schedule. Integrates with virtual and offshore teams as well as participating in any relevant virtual team planning and implementation. Stays current and involved in collecting conditions of the project relative to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), and features (the solution and its quality) as specified by the established project protocol. In addition, performs the process of comparing actual performance with planned performance, analyse variances, evaluate possible alternatives and take appropriate corrective action (control) as specified by the established project protocol. Collects, reviews and publishes project status with regard to resources (people and optionally funding/cost), schedule (time), stakeholder management, and features (the solution and its quality) that influence project performance and completion. Provides guidance to junior team members and peers. Optimizes the positioning of Microsoft solutions to address client needs. Leverages established tools (i.e. Campus) for intellectual capital use and reuse. Follows the principles of the Services Foundational Principles (SFP), Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), the Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF) and the Services Delivery Methodology (SDM) in project delivery. Throughout the project, consistently evaluate Intellectual Property (IP)/IPKits? for reuse, evolves and upload Intellectual Property (IP) as developed in your projects/work stream. Document requests for changes to scope on Change Requests and drive these through the Change Management process. Collate information for control and reporting to each level of the project governance structure. Track that invoicing has been correctly carried out according to the schedule in the Contract, and payments have been received from customer. Carry out regular reviews with customer to monitor satisfaction, and highlight to PjM where top box marks are not been achieved, together with recommendation of remedial activity required. Monitor that team members are entering time into DAX. Update the risk and issue logs following reviews at Project Management meetings. Prepare deliverables for internal review by independent Subject Matter Experts (SME's) and PjM. Collate deliverables for customer review and approval and maintains appropriate records of acceptance activities carried out by the customer. Conduct closedown activities as required by SDM. Collect Intellectual Property (IP) and utilize Campus to enable re-use on other projects. Why does the role exist? The PjM role exists for Individual Contributors (IC's) who already have proven experience in the Project Management career path. This PjM role is a mid-level career step for already trained and experienced Project Managers to gain more experience with project management and delivery disciplines, by applying existing experience and PjM skills, and take the responsibility to manage, monitor and track the day to day activities of scope, time, cost, risk, financial and customer satisfaction management. How does the role add value? On every project someone must carry out the regular control and monitoring of progress against planned timescales, budgets and quality, that deliverables are being accepted by the customer in a timely fashion, scope of work as defined in contract is achieved, assigned work is managed according to the customer's set expectations and based on the customer's conditions of satisfaction (CoS) resulting in achievement of top box satisfaction scores. This role is essential and also focus on driving the project to success and monitoring that the customer is carrying out all their tasks and dependencies according to agreed timescales. What are key initiatives and challenges facing this role over the next six months to three years? This role is specifically aimed at expanding the PjM team's reach and capabilities to support the new Relationship and Delivery Management roles in Services. This role plays a key role in the enablement of the business transformation in Services and will provide crucial support and take on additional responsibilities to enable this transition. The PjM role has been differentiated across seniority levels, to offer a clear career progression path within the role as well, As projects become larger and more complex, there will be a need to retain our most experienced PjM to ensure we can successfully deliver these. Staff joining the PjM team will be expected to already have completed a PjM certification (PMI preferred).
