Laboratory Technician

We are currently inviting Chinese science graduates to apply for a lab technician’s position to work within our expanding Secondary science department.

Secondary Lab Technician – The successful candidate will join our Secondary science team in delivering the UK curriculum to students from Year 7 to Year 12. Applicants must be science degree holders and should have relevant lab experience; a good level of spoken English would be extremely beneficial. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare equipments for science practical lessons.

• Tidy away after science practical classes.

• Organise, audit and order science resources, distribute items into each of the labs.

• Follow the instruction in CLEAPSS for the storage and preparation of scientific chemicals.

• Ensure that equipment and chemicals are stored neatly and safely (clearly labelled in English) in the science prep room and in the science classrooms.

• Follow government regulations regarding chemical use and storage

• Maintain a check on stock and inform the teachers where necessary.

• Liaise with purchase department to clarify the requirement of the science department.

• Receive and check science new equipments from supplier.

• Create and maintain experiment record folder for lab technician and teachers’ reference.

• Update science apparatus table.

• Support external examinations and other whole school events within the department

   Other:  

• Develop a system to enable teachers to easily borrow and return resources.

• Photocopy and redistribute teaching files.

• Report maintenance in science lab and prep room.

   Qualifications Requirements:   

• Have a degree in science and relevant lab experience

• Have good interpersonal skills and work well in teams

• Have a good level of spoken English and a willingness to improve this level
