Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

• Leading design visualization efforts with 3D CAD models and essential component and assembly details to explore multiple design options • Developing innovative designs to meet all requirements for performance, reliability, cost and manufacturability • Developing engineering design concepts for components and electromechanical assemblies that have stringent requirements for size, precision, reliability and cost • Preparation/presentation of design analysis reports and part/assembly drawing reviews • Develop product, component test and purchase specifications • Coordinate component testing and document results • Create detail drawings and communicate with suppliers

Qualifications/Requirements

• BS Mechanical Engineering or related field• Proficient with modeling and detailed drawings with PRO-E software• Engineering experience, 3 years minimum• Hands on hardware experience on mechanical systems and components• Ability to work with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.• Fluent verbal and written English language communication skills

Desired Characteristics

• MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field• Relative work experience in the areas of composites, Injected molded plastic design, sheet metal design, mechanisms, cables & harnesses, labeling, and packaging• FEA and/or CFD experience with ANSYS (preferred)• Flexibility in handling challenging, multi-tasking workload.• Leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.• Demonstrated program/project planning capability• Capability to generate innovative concepts• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification• Design for reliability experience • Design for manufacturing experience
