Essential Responsibilities
- Lead Advanced Service and Repair Technology Development & Industrialization. The technology will be applied on Aircraft engine on-wing repair and repair/overhaul in shop.
- Particularly on developing novel inspection technology/process/equipment that can enable on-wing inspection, automated inspections that can drive productivity and quality in the repair/overhaul shop. .
- Provide strategic direction and plan the long-term adoption of the novel in-situ apparatus, device, inspection technologies. Shape the road map and plan of technology industrialization.
- Identify the critical technology risk and technical requirements of assigned components and systems. Develop creative solutions within technical, operational, and industrialization limitations. Develop action plans with guidance to respond to issues / problems.
- New-developed technology documentation and certifications. Support validation and commercialization process to shop and airline users.
Role Summary/Purpose
This engineer will work in GE Aviation China Engineering Team at Shanghai. Deeply partner with Global Advanced Service and Repair Technology Organization, Component repair shop, Overhaul shop and, fleet management to develop Inspection Technology. Particularly on developing novel inspection technology/process/equipment that can enable on-wing inspection, automated inspections that can drive productivity and quality in the repair/overhaul shop.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Master above with working experience or education background of inspection technology such as. Optical inspection, machine vision, Automation, NDE, measurement and control.
- Preferred engineering skills include mechanical design, robotics & automation, image processing, deep learning, equipment system integrations.
- Strong communication to coordinate multiple function team work. Excellent English. This job required to work with US team and international user closely.
- Technology or equipment R&D Experience. Capable of identify the engineering requirement and technical requirement. Then conduct problem analysis and raise solution. System thinking on project management with metrics such as TRL (Technical Readiness Level)
- Knowledge in Aircraft engine, airline maintenance, engine manufacturing, overhaul and repair could be plus.
