Essential Responsibilities
The GE Aviation Senior Compliance Counsel – Asia/China will lead projects and initiatives to drive a complete and comprehensive compliance program in mainland China, Taiwan and other sub-regions in Asia as required by changing business needs. This role will work with Aviation Headquarters Compliance Team, GE Corporate compliance teams and regional business leaders to provide advice and counsel ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and GE Aviation policies. This role is also responsible for partnering with Aviation business leadership to build integrity culture across the Asia region. This role will report to GE Aviation Asia Chief Compliance Officer.
• Lead the regional compliance early warning system to help the Company stay ahead of emerging developments
• Lead risk assessment & abatement process across the region
• Partner with business operations leaders, legal counsel, and team members in building the open reporting culture and the integrity culture
• Localize Aviation policies and procedures consistent with country-specific laws and regulations
• Identify, propose and execute improvements to Aviation’s existing compliance processes
• Lead the compliance training & communications with local contents and adaptable to local culture
• Confidentially investigate compliance cases when expertise in field is required, develop and message a strong understanding of the compliance investigation process
• Interact with customers, joint ventures and partners, where applicable, to share best practices and assist with the development and growth of their integrity programs
• Lead compliance operating rhythm, such as regional Compliance Review Board, regular calls with compliance representatives and ombuds team in the region

Qualifications/Requirements

• 5 years+ legal or compliance experience with leading MNC, law firms or accounting firms
• Bachelor or above
