Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

1. Responsible for Electrical Integration & Communications, including but not limited to a. Developing the locomotive schematic and wirelist from system and sub-system design specifications, which are used by the manufacturing team to build the locomotive; b. Working directly with the design and manufacturing teams, ensure the subsystems integrate, the factory meets production schedule and resolve issues that can impact production schedule c. Leading the first AutoCAD developed schematic, d. Control system data flow design between various controllers, IO management design, control hardware requirements definition, and validations e. Implement productivity project to remove ACO from the locomotive 2. Responsible for New electrical component Introduction and technical support to manufacturing vendors in China, including but not limited to a. Transit, Off Highway Vehicle, Locomotive electromagnetic power/control equipment and devices such as contactors, inverters, rectifier, circuit breakers, controllers, switches, resistor grids, relays, cables, bus bars, etc. The subassemblies of the above devices may also be within the scope of the design and procurement effort. b. Interfacing with the GE US engineering team to validate existing drawings and specifications. Effort will also involve intense analysis of Supplier Deviation Requests for any procured materials, which do not meet current GE specifications. Creation of Validation Matrices and implementation of these matrices is also a critical duty such as First Article Inspections, Devise and implement validation tests including functional test, material property test, environment test, life test, and reliability test. 3. Responsible for reliability project that is relate to the locomotive/OHV communication network (Arcnet and Ethernet), and control system in China fleets, including but not limited to a. Failure detection, quantification and isolation b. Root cause investigation of the failure mode c. Control program development to contain the failure rate d. Drive global team for permanent solution to fix the reliability issue in biz expected time window

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Software, Communication, or Control System Engineering2. A minimum of 3 years working experience on electrical, electronics, network and control system engineering3. A minimum of 3 years engineering experience in matrix organization of MNC4. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese5. Must have exceptional problem solving capabilities6. Must have strong leadership, facilitation and cross-functional skill, and be able to effectively engage engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality teams, and supplier to resolve issues 7. Preferred knowledge and skill sets include locomotive schematic design and the manufacturing process, the locomotive communication system, system design specification modification and release process
