The Digital Crime Unit (DCU) Team is a diverse global team with lawyers, investigators, analysts, responsible for IPR protection and digital crime across the world. The mission of this team is to create a better IPR environment for Microsoft and the industry as well as build a safer cyber space for our customers.
We are looking for a DCU Attorney based in Shanghai, China, who combines a deep knowledge of IPR protection practice and a passion for fighting against digital crime for a safer digital world. Candidates will have keen interest and curiosity to understand cutting-edge technologies, intricate IP policies, dynamic markets trends, and Microsoft’s complex business needs. In this role you will work closely with various business units in Microsoft across China, outside counsel and a global DCU Team, in support of Microsoft’s business growth in China.

Exemplary responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
• Establishing and maintaining good relationships with Microsoft’s business units in China, serving and helping them grow their business by leveraging DCU expertise and assets. This position will preliminary take care of East region and North region;
• Managing and working closely with outside counsel team and other third-party suppliers in the above mentioned two regions;
• Enlarging Microsoft’s influence on IPR protection and digital security areas across China by working closely with academia community, Gov’t elites, law enforcement and judicial system;
• Maintaining and working closely with industrial associations and other software vendors to protect the interest of Microsoft and the industry and create better business environment.

Desired qualifications:
• Major in law from top Chinese law school;
• Licensed lawyer in China with 8+ years experience with law firm and/or inhouse, have rich experience in negotiation and litigation. IT experience preferred;
• Fluent Mandarin and English, both in written and spoken;
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex situations to diverse audiences;
• Always willing to learn new things, embrace changes with growth mindset;
• Has ability to deal with stress and willing to travel frequently;
• Great team work, and always willing to learn from others and help others;
• Business-oriented, result-driven, fast learning, hardworking, flexible with principle, and,
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, proficiency in PowerPoint and ability to ramp quickly on a variety of analytical tools.
