Business Manager - PRC COO Office, Beijing
Purpose:
Reporting to the COO PRC, the Business Manager is responsible for managing the subsidiary’s governance model, and support the China leadership team to drive business and people agenda through standard rhythm across the organization. The successful Business Manager must have the ability to think strategically at a global level and effectively develop key processes, procedures and communications that facilitate business planning and execution. This position requires extensive cross-group coordination at all levels, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build compelling internal/external presentations and comprehensive business review materials. The Business Manager will provide insight and advice to senior leadership team around financial, organization and operational issues, participate in overall strategy decisions, and partner in business execution.
Key responsibilities
• Direct accountability for effective implementation the PRC governance model with support from the PRC leadership team to clarify priorities and streamline internal meetings across GCR.
• Support key rhythm of business activities with Finance & M&O team including QBU, PRISM and MGX, FastStart, Awards.
• Provide direction and guidance to business planning & sales excellence community in the region to one business calendar to maximize selling time and to effectively drive Corp & Local executive account/partner planning & engagement to our revenue and market share goals
• Work closely with internal communications, Marketing and PR team to drive One Microsoft alignment of outreach calendar across GSMO and Asia R&D groups to maximize the impact of high profile external events and employee engagement plans.
• Create a result-driven work environment to encourage teamwork, collaboration and open discussions with HR, Finance, Facility and other functions through continued Office space planning/expansion, change management and PRC leader’s community engagement events.
• Prepare materials and facilitate monthly China LT meeting agendas, LT offsite and quarterly All Hands.
• Work closely with sales leaders to plan COO’s quarterly regional visits and with Corp Exec teams to plan and hosts Corp Executives like Satya and JPC when they come on their China visits.
• Evaluate and consult on National Plan exec engagement opportunities and outreach messaging for COO office.
Experience and Qualifications:
• BA or equivalent 4-year degree required, Microsoft experience & MBA preferred
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills required, including ability to analyze multiple sources of data and recommend actions based on analysis
• Proven track record of business management responsibility, organization agility and strong business acumen
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely - both orally and in written form and to effectively influence others in multiple groups and collaborate to achieve specific objectives
• Analytical ability to understand complex problem with many variables and ambiguity and draw conclusions and solve problems
• Excellent Project management and organization skills required, including ability to manage multiple competing priorities across different groups in the organization
• Proven ability to communicate effectively across different levels in the organization in English required, reading and conversation in Chinese Mandarin preferred
