Role Summary/Purpose
In this role, you will essentially lead the finance activities on Tianjin facility set up and Magnet strategic transfer, provide financial leadership to GE Healthcare's Tianjin plant from set up to normal operation. Tianjin plant is a key global supply chain expansion milestone in China, phase I itself is a 40,000 square meters space and projecting for a USD400 million capacity in 3-5 years.
Essential Responsibilities
1. During construction period : Partner with project managers (TJ plant and Magnet transfer) on strategic analysis, financial support, IT set up, finance process set up and build the finance team locally. 2. Post operation starts : Partner with business leaders and staff to drive operating performance & act as champion for variable and base cost productivity, inventory accuracy and utilization, and plant & equipment spending. 3. Ensure controllership and consistency of accounting processes across the operations, drive controllership awareness & processes through operations teams and ensure SOX compliance in all manufacturing processes. Also support inventory standard setting processes. 4. Ownership for developing estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews, Growth Playbook (3 year plan) and SII (1 year plan) 5. Driving profitable growth by providing analysis & recommendations of results & reporting key metrics while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities 6. Support operations in the development, analysis & implementation of productivity programs in addition to analyzing all variable and base costs 7. Support operations in the development, analysis of manufacturing variances including purchase price, material design & labor overhead variances 8. Lead standard cost, variance, labor utilization & capacity analysis activities 9. Drive inventory accuracy and reduction process improvements including consignments & discrepant material as well as lead the annual physical inventory 10. Ensure timely reconciliation of unfinished P&E, tagging of P&E assets and ensure completeness with respect to GAP 20 procedures & SOX requirements 11. Manage and develop a team of analysts, provide finance training to the Operations Leadership teams on metrics, financial processes & standard setting practices 12. As a key member of plant leadership team, work with strategy leader to provide financial support and analysis that help drive investment decisions as well as execute expansion projects
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of eight years of financial work experience including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews. Minimum of three years of manufacturing finance work experience and three years plus team management experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience working in a global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows 2. Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros) 3. 10+ years of financial work experience, including developing forecasts and operating plans 4. Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma 5. Experience working in a matrixes environment 6. Experience working with remote management and/or at a stand-alone facility 7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner 8. Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change 9. Clear thinking/problem solving: successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas 10. Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations 11. Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others 12. Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills
