TITLE: Product and Packaging Designer

GENERAL MISSION:

Based on Auchan Ethic Rules, the Designer ensures the efficient and timely creation and/or modification of given packaging range.

He takes care of the visual coherence and the functional relevancy of his packaging and, when applicable, of his products ranges.

By his actions, the designer greatly contributes to the attractiveness of Auchan's offer and hence the customers' loyalty.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ He creates and/or modifies packaging and/or product ranges according to project flow.

§ He pilots services providers and/or suppliers and/or junior designers to create or modify all the packaging on given products ranges.

§ Based on the requirements given by the quality department, he makes sure his packaging and instruction manuals are in line with legal demands. .

§ He works in projects mode with many people involved. He guarantees the planning regarding the creation and modifications of the packaging. He strictly follows the validation process.

§ Together with his suppliers, he creates/designs products to match the request of product managers in France. He also supports France's designer in the tuning and validation of their "made in China" samples.

§ He spontaneously proposes packaging solutions, products optimizations and any relevant commercial innovation.

§ He closely follows the development of private labels products together with the Product Manager, the quality engineer and the suppliers

§ As an experienced person, he trains and coaches junior members of the team

§ He archives all packaging realized in a structured and accessible manner.

TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Education Background:

- Degree: Bachelor degree or above

- Major: Design / Packaging

Minimum Experience:

- 3 to 5 years experience in the field of packaging and design of mass consumption products.

- Minimum 2-3 years studying/working in a European country

- Experience in an international sourcing structure is a clear plus

Language:

- Excellent spoken and written English

- French appreciated

- Other European language (Spanish, Italia, Russian...) is a clear plus

Computer Skills:

- Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

- Efficient with Microsoft office (Excel, Powerpoint & Visio)
